Great phone with several little problems.

There are hundreds of outlets singing the praises of the phone and they're all right, so I just want to outline some annoyances in my first week with it.Most critically being this morning I plugged in the charger and the phone says 'connected, no charging" the charger works fine and this is a known issue and a critical failure. A phone needs to at least be able to charge. It charges fine on my wireless charger. No app hiding.I miss the screen gestures of Oneplus of drawing a V and it turning on flashlight or an S to open a specific app. All P6 has is the double tap so that's only a single quick command.Every single time I need to tap something on the edge of the screen it takes several attempt because the phone is looking for 'return' swipes, even on it's lowest sensitivity. No individual App icon changing.Needs an headphone adapter with it's own DAC.Every other phone maker puts the DAC in the phone. ('sep Galaxy)
I've had it for about a week now. It's pretty nice. Battery stays charged. I can install and uninstall ANYTHING I want. No more bloatware to have to deal with. I miss starting my flashlight with a shake but they make apps for that. Nice phone!
The phone is solid, but the fingerprint reader either doesn't recognize or is slow to open. This needs to be fixed. Once that is fixed, it is a good phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After having a Samsung, I opted for Google phone for my upgrade to 5G. I haven't used a lot of the features yet, but there is one item that prevents me from giving a higher rating. I do not like having to hold my finger at the bottom until the phone senses to bring up all the apps currently opened. I don't like having many apps remaining open. On all my previous Android phones, one swipe up then a tap on the three vertical bars easily brought up the opened apps and I could close the ones wanted. On the Pixel 6, you have to hold or slide slowly on the bottom horizontal bar to have the apps currently opened displayed. If the Pixel 6 doesn't register your finger pressure, other screens or apps may launch as your finger moves. When I finally do get the screen to clear the apps that have launched, I find that a couple more need to be cleared. It's redundant to have apps seen swiping right or left, and also seeing all apps from swiping up from the bottom. Pick one way.
