Almost Perfect Phone

Almost everything about the phone is great. The cameras are superb. The OS is buttery smooth and snappy. The design is the best Pixel design to date. The only two issues I have is that occasionally it gets pretty hot to the touch. Secondly, white the build material is top notch, it is a very slippery phone.
I like everything about the phone, especially the battery life, BUT the camera. Pixels are known for their cameras. I've had a Pixel 3 for the last 3 1/2 years and the camera is fantastic. It is a let-down to upgrade to the Pixel 6 only to have a poorer camera. The pictures don't turn out awful, but definitely not as good as the Pixel 3, especially on the selfie camera. The main problem though, is that the camera will not focus on anything, especially the selfie camera. So, you have to just snap the picture, even though the viewfinder is very out of focus and hope it turns out ok. And "ok" is about how the pictures turn out.
My husband and I both got these phones and have been frustrated. Set-up took forever, and my husband usually walks right through this type of thing with relative ease. No back key makes it much more like an iPhone. Very frustrating. Had to find a third-party app to get my company emails because I don't like them intermingled with my Gmail. Choices have been mediocre at best. I manage multiple Gmail accounts; you'd think the one I used to set up the phone would be the default going forward, but it hasn't been. Sometimes when I want to go to a Google app or use Autofill for passwords, I've noticed one of my other organizations' account being used. Haven't figured out yet how to change that. It just feels too hard. And why doesn't the phone come with a charging cord? Had to buy that separately if we wanted speed charging.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First off, the camera is great - really amazing and happy. However it REALLY bothers me that the phone doesn't lay flat due to the bar on the back. The bar also feels like it takes up too much of the surface area. My fingers naturally lay over it and makes it feel weird to take pictures and use the camera. The side swiping to go back instead of just hitting a back arrow like on previous phones is a real problem as well. Too many times have I tried to swipe through pictures and such and the phone takes this as me trying to "go back" and forces me to exit whatever I was doing. REALLY annoying there.. and it feels like there's a much better and easier solution. Maybe just swiping the top of the screen instead of the whole side?Having to swipe up and hold the screen there to dismiss apps is also annoying but that's kind of minor.Everything else is great. Really enjoying the phone and I think if these things are changed it could easily be the best phone over ever owned.
So 1 week into the Pixel6, everything is running fine. But, it's only one week. The keyboard is night and day better then my iPhone xsmax.phone reception for calls I think are better the the iPhone. Battery life isn't bad, but it is brand new. Pixel remembers things passwords and stuff like that better.the bad think about the phone is you can't give contacts it own text message tone. I do like that feature that iPhone has. I did try to reach out to Google and it is impossible to talk to a human.
The only slight disappointment is lesser battery live compared to Pixal 4a (non 5G). But Pixel 6 has larger screen and 5G. Wireless charging is very welcome. Magic eraser in photos is great.
This is by far the worst phone I have had some many major issues
I would recommend this to a friend!
