Fingerprint reader errors and overheating

This phone is an upgrade from the Pixel 4 I was using before but honestly the fingerprint reader is whack and the phone still overheats unexpectedly which was a cause for concern with my Pixel 4
I'm still learning all the features of the phone. I have been a Motorola user for the last 10 years so a little change for me. Everything works great, I have had no issues with anything to include updating to the newest software. Picture taking is a breeze and the quality is outstanding. The only complaint I have would be not having the option of the SD card, this is where I stored my music.
I've only had the phone for a week or so. Setting it up and transferring data from my old Pixel 2 was fast and painless. Battery life has been very good but - particularly compared to my old phone. The fingerprint reader is really bad. Much worse than my old phone and since this is something I use everytime I use the phone it feels like a huge oversight by the Google team. The user interface is OK but removing the soft buttons for viewing all open apps to allow switching between them has been a pain. I can get to this when I'm in an app but when I'm at my home screen I can't seem to do this. I probably need to figure out the left handed, inside out thumb swipe to do it but I'm not there yet.It is a nice and seemingly powerful phone but overall, I'm disappointed because of these user interface issues. I wish I had tried it out before buying.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I upgraded from the first edition Google Pixel to the Pixel 6... most existing and new features are definitely obvious, however, after using the phone for the last 2 months, here's what I've noticed off the bat...I don't find the voice recognition to be improved that much. It does offer punctuation which is nice, but still needs a little bit of accuracy when capturing words. Also, it tends to retype the last word I've said frequently in a sentence, which tends to get annoying. The fingerprint recognition to unlock the phone doesn't always work; it works about the same as my original Pixel, or perhaps is slightly less accurate. I notice having to constantly press my finger in different angles or use another finger all together. The photo features are definitely an upgrade, but I haven't had enough time to really play with everything. All in all, the phone is great, with exception to these features, but these features are important to me because I use them quite often.
No face unlock, fingerprint scanner is pretty bad and the durability is horrible compared to my previous phone. Glass that has scratched within weeks on the camera and protectors that make the fingerprint reader even worse than it already is doesn't help. Battery life isn't great either. You are getting good specs internally but the quality of life aspects are just not there. Having to spend several seconds to unlock the phone hurts quite a bit when you could unlock the phone in moments on a 4 year old phone that cost less on release compared to the Pixel 6. Lack of face id also hurts a lot. 30W charging also doesn't feel good when the phone only lasts 1 day while new. Can't wait for the phone to age and that battery start to deteriorate. The camera also does not live up to what you would expect from a brand that was built on great picture quality. The software over works the image creating an image that is too processed (too crisp or lights up the surroundings too much).

No stars on here, really don't like this phone. Would be trading it in for a Samsung. Not happy

I had used all the pixel phones since Pixel 2XL. This one is very well built. Build quality is amazing. Overall a great phone for the price but with some weird choices like .7 wide angle, selfie cam isn't too wide either. Inscreen fingerprint sensor is a bit slow. Not great on battery either, but lasts a day. Screen quality is not that great, had been facing blue shift issues.
