Mixed Bag

1. Transfer of info: cable didn't work, bluetooth intermittent, did not transfer some significant info including Pixel 2xl device contacts and data on 3rd party apps. Relative grade? Apple: 5, Pixel: 2 2. Battery: you have to hang in there while the battery adapts to your use. It was shockingly bad at first: the Pixel 2xl was superior. They're about the same now. As everyone reports: charging is slow. Doesn't affect me, because I have it on charge overnight. If I needed a bridge charge, 30 minutes to a 50% charge would be sufficient. 3. I like the screen. I like the 90Hz refresh. I'm fine with their adaptive brightness-I think it's better than iphone's 13. I wish it were brighter for sunny days. 4. I like the main camera, the 2x zoom and the ultrawide (which is not "ultra" wide). Pictures are crisp and clear. Saturation

Price 8/10. Performance also 8/10. Fingerprint sensor under the screen dope/10. It's bulkier then I'm used to but I'm coming off phones like the Pixel 3a and the moto x before that. Not a fan of the camera visor protruding so far out from the back.

Google Pixel 6

Anytime you get a new phone, it's a life changing event. Usually not good. But going from one Android phone to another, and both with Verizon, the transition was pretty easy. Good phone so far, no issues.

Great Other Than Fingerprint Reader
on November 18, 2021

For the last year, I've been using the Pixel 4a 5g which has a physical fingerprint reader on the back. The only time it has trouble with reading my fingers is when they are wet. I didn't realize how good that feature was until I started to use the Pixel 6. I could only get the Pixel 6 to read my finger about 20% of the time. This was a deal-breaker for me, so I returned it and went back to the 4a 5g. In full disclosure, the tempered glass screen protector that I used may have been a contributing factor. However, I need the extra protection, so I wasn't willing to try without it. The Pixel 6 screen is great, and I love that it has wireless charging and is IP rated. The camera in low light is spectacularly good. The overall experience is great, but (for me) not good enough to overcome the fingerprint reading issue. Maybe this is a correctable problem via software. If you're coming from a phone that doesn't have a fingerprint reader, the Pixel 6 is a no-brainer - especially for the cost.

Great phone but......

Awesome phone but it's not much different from my Pixel 3 XL I love that phone. This picture quality is a little better and a few other features that are cool but don't really matter. I wish this phone had the squeeze feature because I hate saying hey Google. And the finger print on the screen sucks please put in on the back of the phone like the 3XL it's better that way. But over I love it and I'm the only Android user in a house full of iPhones but all of them want me to take the pictures lol! I have the better phone and they know it. Iphone is just popular and they believe it's better but it's not. So come on Google team If you really want to take over, make the next phone cheaper and blow iPhone out of the water with the features and especially the video. Because everyone says the video is not better than iPhone. So work on that.

It's ok

Long time Google phone user, I stopped at the Pixel 3 but I kept using my Pixel 2 instead up until the 6 I just got. It's big and heavy compared to the Pixel 2, but so fast and a big screen. The screen kind of has a blueish tint or a flash to it when you catch it in the corner of your eye, kind of like a pulse width modulated LED. The on screen finger print reader is a cool idea but works much less accurately than the Pixel 2, I end up using the pin instead a lot. I have big hands but the few extra mm and the extra weight make it harder for one hand use than the Pixel 2. It does have the camera bump out that you can rest your finger on so you don't drop it, the Pixel 6 is a bit slippery. The camera has a bigger sensor, I'm sure I'll eventually appreciate the bokeh, but for taking accurate shots of documents it blurs the edges too much. I probably should use a different camera.I imagine i'll get used to all this stuff, so far the first 3 weeks have been ok. I do like the speed!

Phone sucks

This phone is awful. The screen won't stop flickering and turning this weird pink and green tinted color. The finger print sensor is extremely unreliable also. Why can't Google just get hardware right for once?!?!
