Good Phone so far, but the fingerprint unlock doesn't work

So far it's been an OK phone, but I'm not sure I would qualify it as a significant upgrade from my previous 3a (TBD!). I've yet to take any significant pictures with it so I still can't judge the quality of the camera. My main pain point is using the fingerprint unlock: it doesn't work! While it's still not as expensive as the other high tier phones, maybe the cheaper and more stable 5a would have been enough for my needs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fingerprint Disappointment

I would love to give the Pixel 6 a 5 star review but the most impactful aspect of the phone is the fingerprint ID. It affects me EVERY TIME I try to use my phone. It is not reading my print well and it does not read it AT ALL with a screen protector on. Once I unlock my phone, other apps respond to my print ID but the start up does not. So disappointing. I LOVED my Pixel 3. If the fingerprint was still on the back of the phone, it would be so much better. It has been a week and I am trying to stay optimistic. The camera is fantastic, the video too. Google bombed on this simple operational feature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far my new pixel 6 is a great phone.. just like my old phone the pixel 3, just a little bit larger screen. I hope this phone last just as long as my old phone.. great features, and a very long battery life..

It's a little too big. Very slick without a case. Finger print scanner doesn't always work. Video popout feature works well. Camera is nice

I miss the fingerprint reader of the pixel 3. I loved that. The one on the Pixel 6 is useless. The pros of the 3 was that you could feel where it was. You didn't have to look at the phone. The 6, you have to look to see where the scanner is plus it hardly ever works the first time.

Snappy and elegant device

This was my first pixel, coming over from a Samsung S10E and an iPhone before that. Thus far I've enjoyed the integration of the Google experience into everything. The S10E did a good job but fully commiting to Samsung's platform wasn't really an option - in Bixby, etc. The iPhone obviously is a top notch device, but I personally prefer the Google experience. Overall, I'd recommend the Pixel 6.
