Pixel 6 - 1st Impressions

Overall, I am pleased with the phone. The transition from the old phone (not a Pixel) to the new phone was very easy and it did an excellent job. The biggest con is the fingerprint sensor. It is both weak and finicky, a bad combination. I removed the screen protector and then there was an update and the combination of those two improved it quite a lot (70% of the time) but it is still not where it needs to be. FWIW, my old phone had a screen protector and the fingerprint reader worked just fine. I am hopeful that there will be an update that will get it to at least 90% of the time and maybe even add facial recognition as an option. The two biggest pluses are (1) an excellent camera loaded with quality and features, and, (2) at least two more system updates. I am hopeful that Google will follow the Apple model and keep the updates coming past that time. The updates are the biggest reason that I moved from the other phone.

Problem with thumbprint reader

Had the phone for a week now and overall like the performance however I hate the thumbprint reader being on the screen. I have multiple copies of both thumbprints stored and rarely get the phone to unlock. I used the Pixel 3 for 3 yrs and the reader on that worked every time so that has been my biggest disappointment with the 6 so far.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pixel 6 and new features

Really happy with my phone kinda coral pix 6... I've been learning and finding information relatively easy enjoy the new assistant features... finger print I'd is working fine it's fast ....not a big camera person BUT the search feature is phenomenalJust happy with all of the personal features

Great phone that gets the job done

I upgraded from a Pixel 4 to the Pixel 6 and I'm super happy I did. One, the battery life on the 4 was atrocious and with the 6, I'm routinely finishing the day north of 50%. I'm not a heavy user on the phone (no games, not a ton of steaming), but I do use it for productivity purposes at work and lots of article reading. I was planning to go for the Pro, but with shipping delays continuing, I decided to opt for the 6. The large size took some getting use to, but I appreciate it now.On a day to day feel, the phone just handles everything I need it to do and there's nothing that sticks out as a noteworthy downside. People have their opinions on the processor, camera bump, screen, etc. But overall, it's just a solid phone for a competitive price. Calls sound great, Android 12 is amazing, and generally all the standard features work well. I've only had it for a couple weeks and I got it after Google fixed the fingerprint sensor, so it works great for me 98% of the time. Go get the 6!

I've had the pixel 3a and then 4xl. I went back to apple, but saw the new pixel 6... I had to have it. I'm happy to be back with the pixel phones. The battery is amazing. The photos are always good.

Not worth the money

I thought the issues reported with the fingerprint scanner were probably overstated. They are not. You don't realize the effect this will have until you have to make 5 to 10 attempts to log into your phone using each thumb.After you log in, the phone works pretty well.
