I've had it one week, so I will update the review if needed, but so far, I love this phone. I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S8 when it finally died, and the Pixel 6 is so much better than I imagined. I've had a Samsung phone and tablet for years and never thought I'd switch. I took a chance on the Pixel 6, and I'm glad I made the switch.Pros: So fast, and it switching everything over from my previous google account was so simple. It took some adjusting to the swipe motions/switching from window to window, but once I got used to it, I found I liked it better. Downloads seem faster. I stream music on Spotify at work and never had any skips or slowdowns. Battery life is a million times better than my old S8. Low light pictures blow me away, a much better than my s8. Cons: I'm still trying to figure out the photos, as you have to remain still for longer than I'm used to. However, the picture quality is fantastic. I suggest watching the videos Google sends with tips for taking pics.
Great phone. I switched from a Pixel 2XL that has been the best phone I ever had, and so far love this phone. Can't really see a huge difference between the two models. I really miss the fingerprint reader on the back of the phone. I am not too crazy about this new system. It's a little frustrating at times and it could take a couple of tries to unlock the phone. Overall this is a great phone. Highly recommended.
Bad: I went from a Samsung to this and so far I am frustrated. The picture collage feature does not let me design my picture collage the way I want. I get a standard collage and have no way to edit it. There is no health feature to monitor my steps so I have to download an app since I use to use S Health by Samsung. The volume seems low. The phone sound function has ring and notifications as one item. I want to keep my ringer on and be able to turn notifications sound off but this phone can not. Both are under the same function. Connecting to Bluetooth SUCKS! I have to connect and disconnect and restart the device 3-4 times for it to connect. Never had this issue with my Samsung. Good: The screen is clear, movies look great. The camera quality is the best I have ever seen. Overall this phone needs a lot of improvements to be even close to the Samsung quality. I wish they didn't talk me into trying this phone. I am considering taking it back.
The pixel is always a good phone, I gave it 4/5 just for the size and current state of the software. I do run into bugs on occasion. It takes me three times to get into the select text from screenshot images usually. That's a main one I get, others are frozen apps or keyboard randomly pressing letters. The phone feels more like a tablet than a phone to me. I enjoyed the 3a more than any pixel out, I like phones to be convenient to carry. If we could get the 3a with new tech in it as a mid tier phone I'd go back to that. Having something bigger like this is hard in certain daily jobs trying to manage with it.But for the people who enjoy bigger phones it's a great phone, camera is amazing and it's Google so you get bugs and fixes first which is good. Would recommend for people who don't mind larger devices and want the newest put there without compromise.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my pixel 6. It is very smooth, fast, and intuitive coming from an s8 . Only gripes are the occasional microphone issue on Duolingo. Otherwise I haven't experienced anything upsetting. Best phone I've ever had so far. The voice recognition and Swype to text is better than any previous phone. Being a long term phone owner my comparisons are probably not very useful but so far I love this thing.
Overall I'm very happy happy with the Pixel 6. There has been a lot of bad press about the finger print scanner and I think it is fine and doesn't seem to take any longer than my old Pixel 3.My only negative is that the speaker does not get as loud as the Pixel 3. Not a huge deal, but when using hands free calling it can be a little hard to hear depending on background noise and I have very good hearing. That is my only complaint so far.
In my opinion this phone is better than the pro. Personally I don't take photos all that often and I'm not a big fan of curved screens. I think the pixel 6 is the best priced Android phone out there. It performs just as well and even better than the s21 for less money.
