Pixel 6: Buggy, crashes, poor battery performance
on December 7, 2021

I upgraded from a Pixel 3 because of a trade-in offer and I surely miss the stability of my Pixel 3.My Pixel 6 has been behaving strangely. It has crashed a few times already (in less than two weeks of usage). The battery performance is poor (or at least not as good as its promotional hype). Despite low usage, I have to power it up very frequently at least once a day.A disappointing experience thus far.

First the good: performance is great, unbeatable speech to text I assume due to the AI or ML of Tensor. Battery life has been phenomenal (I did make two tweaks to maximize it - switched from 5G to 4G/LTE, and disabled the 90Hz refresh rate). Can go a full day and still have 60% or more left. Camera is fantastic, even coming from a Pixel 3a. Every picture taken just turns out great. This is my first premium/flagship phone so I had high expectations, most were met. Now the bad: Only thing preventing a 5 star rating is the fingerprint scanner. While it's convenient having it under the screen, it just doesn't work as quickly or reliably as the old rear sensor on my much cheaper Pixel 3a. I have the latest updates (it's Dec 6th 2021 at time of this review). Sometimes works right away, sometimes it's infuriatingly slow or fails repetitive attempts forcing you to use your PIN. Hopeful this can be improve with future software updates.
Bought pixel6 sight unseen because the Pixel and Pixel3 were easily the BEST phones I have ever owned. But this is possibly the worst phone I have ever owned. Crashes constantly, huge lapses of service in known areas where nothing will load and geo won't work. Back arrow navigation has disappeared ala iPhone, requiring ridiculous swiping to frantically get out of pages. Phone so huge, there is no way of reaching the top-left--and disappearing--back arrow. One-handed operation is worthless, as it cuts screen in less than half. Fingerprint reader WILL NOT WORK. It takes 30 seconds or more to get unlock phone.

I have never owned a better phone. Nothing. I type here. Will give this phone justice hands down the best I've ever had. I wouldn't go back to Samsung or Apple unless I absolutely had to. 10/10.
I have been a steadfast OnePlus user since they launched the OnePlus One back in 2013-14, and have had almost all of them. However the recent phones from them have become stale in design and features and the price have been going up losing its value proposition. I have been waiting for a new phone that'll be unique, powerful, feature-rich while still being good value. And the Pixel 6 is just that. It ticks almost all the boxes in terms of hardware and software. Of course there are some quirks and complaints, but overall this is a good phone to consider getting. The camera and the assistant features are amazing, while the UI is fresh and responsive. I only wish if it were a little lighter, and the battery life was comparable to it's competitors. I hope Google continuous to fix the SW bugs with time.
This new phone has great processor speed, it holds a charge much longer than my Pixel 4, and overall is nicer, but I still preferred my old phone better. As a female with average-sized hands, this is a huge device and it is difficult to hold. The camera quality is very iffy and faces close up are consistently blurry. This seems to be a common problem across the board. I expected to use this as my primary camera and don't forsee that happening now that I've experienced the phone.

This is a great phone. It runs nice and fast and the price is right. The one star dock is for the inconsistent fingerprint reader, the glass body (thus is stupid and fragile in my opinion), and because there wasn't a smaller size offered. The body material and size of the Pixel 5 were much better but the rest make the upgrade to the Pixel 6 worth it
