Getting used to the Pixel 6. Came from Pixel-XL to Samsung A42 to Pixel 6. I miss the finger reader on the back, but the Pixel 6 reads my print much better than the Samsung. I will use the Google Assistant more now to accomplish phone calls.
Had a pixel 3 that was still working great after 3 years so I thought about not upgrading. I'm glad I did. This has exceeded my expectations. There's 5G and a faster processer making everything even quicker and easier as a quality of life type upgrade. Battery is absolutely massive. Storage is massive. Love the big screen even though I was hesitant initially. The screen is great This phone will be patched for 6 years, so I'm in it for the long haul and since it's Google software I know it won't slow down even after a few years. The camera is amazing as always. Magic eraser is super convenient. The visor style looks way better than a square cluster of cameras. I have only 1 nitpick issue. I'd like to have a back button at all times instead of the swipe to go back. Maybe I can improve it in the settings.
Love my pixel 6, the only thing that is a little annoying is that I can't remove the glance month and day text on the upper left corner of my screen, it's pretty minor as I know this issue will be fixed with the constant updates from exp with my pixel 3 xl though it does makes it weird trying to manage my home screen widgets. Outside of that, perfect all around phone I could not be happier!
This is my third Pixel after owning 2xl and 3 xl in the past. My biggest complaint is the lousy fingerprint scanner. I'm hoping that it gets fixed with the upcoming update.
I wish I could go back to my Pixel 4 in which the face login worked like a charm. The fingerprint scanner on my Pixel 6 is God awful. It has 20-30% success rate, even after 4-5 attempts. Most of the time it times out and I am forced to log in by typing my passcode. In the time of pandemic, I hoped that replacing my Pixel 4 with Pixel 6 would make my life easier to unlock my phone faster with masks on when I am out, but alas, it has gotten worse. Now no matter I am home or out, I am forced to unlock using passcode. I wonder how could Google certify such a bad sensor? The phone is also very bulky and top heavy compared to my Pixel 4, and I am not a fan of that either. Phone is pretty fast though, no complain in that front. Battery life is also better. Camera is okay, similar to Pixel 4. I still like my spouse's iPhone 13 camera better. Overall it's a very mediocre but over hyped phone in my personal opinion.
I upgraded from the OnePlus 6T and the Pixel 6 is so much better. The camera is great and I don't have an issue with using the fingerprint scanner. I am mostly just shocked their is no Face Unlock feature on a phone in 2021. I would gladly up this review to 5/5 stars when a software updates adds this feature.
