Terrible execution, but cool concept

Buggiest phone I've ever owned. The phone is awesome on paper but the number of bugs and issues are detrimental to its core functionality. Making phone calls is constantly an issue. I haven't been able to get the hotspot to work at all. And the touchscreen is selective with what it does and doesn't recognize as a touch.

A fantastic Android

So far I am loving this phone. I wish it had external storage and I wish my Cellular provider gave the option of upgrading to the larger internal storage and then I feel that is a non issue. I am not a fan of the Pixel app tray but I am living with it. I do like OnePlus tray, or lack of a tray, better. I have not found how I can manipulate the same in the Google phone yet. So far I believe the camera is slightly better than my OnePlus 9Pro and my wife says it is definitely better than her iPhone 13 Pro Max camera.

When I went to get this phone was the same time all the bad reviews started to come out about issues with it. Since I've got it I've had no issues with connectivity, the camera, or anything else with the phone. Only issue I've had with it at all is finding a quality screen protector. But the phone is fantastic. It's fast the camera is Unbelievable. And the voice recognition is beyond compare

Not as good as expected

I researched thoroughly and bought this phone, but am having second thoughts. The build quality is not as good as I would have liked, but more importantly, I've had difficulty making outgoing phone calls, receiving cellphone service (never a problem with my prior phone and same provider), and getting some android apps to run. This morning I tried to make a call and got an error message that the call could not be made because I had an incoming call that had to be answered first. There was no incoming call, so I tried again and again, with the same message. Similarly, some text messages are received, while others are not, all within a 1-minute window without moving the phone at all. Further, some apps are slow to load, and display inconsistently when scrolling between screens. And if you like to customize your lock screen (including something other than four giant white numbers showing the time) it's nearly impossible. I wish I had used a friend's Pixel 6 Pro first.

Pixel 4 -> Pixel 5 -> Pixel 6 Pro -> BOOM!

I am loving this phone. I tended to buy cheap phones, then moved to Pixel lower tier phones for the cameras. I have severe tremor and the Pixel phone technology helps overcome it.The 6 Pro is a step up in screen brightness, smoothness, physical feel, and speed. Things to think about:1. Memory. Get 256 if you like to cache photos and high quality music.2. I don't like the on-screen fingerprint reader. Decide if you will.3. There is a lot of FUD about software issues. Haven't seem 'em yet.I loved the rear-facing fingerprint reader. It combined turn it on and authenticate with it into one smooth step. It also made it simple to find a nice screen protector.With the front-facing fingerprint reader, I have to activate the phone with the power button or by picking it up, then hold my thumb in the right place, at the proper angle, for what seems like forever (half a second?) This is much more awkward. I don't like having the phone activate when I pick it up. Risk of pocket dials.

great photos, Google wants to control all access

The phone is large, but has a great screen. Everyone loves the camera and it is super fast and the battery lasts a while. My one complaint is that every other phone took my contacts from Outlook and Office 365 and made them the default phone contacts. Google wants Google Mail to be my default contact manager and makes it super complicated to get my Outlook contacts to sync with the texting function.

Back to Pixel

When the the Pixel 4 came out I switched from the Pixel to the Samsung Note 10 and was very happy with it. However as time went on and I read more about the capabilities of the Pixel 6 and Android 12 I decided to go back to Pixel and am I glad that I did!. I forgot how nice it is to have a phone designed to integrate perfectly with the Android OS. The camera is amazing. The interface is so intuitive and easy to use that I don't see me ever going back to anything but the Pixel.
