Almost awesome

I'm thoroughly enjoying my new pixel 6 pro. That said there are a few bugs I hope they iron out soon. My phone has been dropped from my truck Bluetooth randomly during calls. But other than that it's been good.

The phone is great, I don't like that it doesn't come with a charger for the price. The headphone jack is missed on this device as well. The camera is amazing and all of the features seem to work as expected. The phone does run very hot at times.

Mediocre

The battery life is no better than my 2 year old pixel 4. The curved screen is a gimmicky feature with no real purpose. The touch unlock feature is buggy at best. I definitely don't feel like I have a new phone. Integrating The camera into the functional portion of the screen leaves an annoying black dot at the top of most apps.

My third Pixel

I started with the original Pixel model, then upgraded a few years later to a Pixel 3XL. I thought it was excellent (running Android 12), until last month after sitting on a desk all night, it was just dead. The case was separating as if it had overheated. I ordered my Pixel 6Pro and waited, fretting, 3 long weeks for it to arrive, and am now blown away by the capabilities and speed of operation. Connected on Google Fi, it is an optimum mobile computer and communication device. I recommend getting a case for it, as it is VERY thin and slick (hard to grip securely). Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

I have been a Samsung user for as long as I've had a cell phone, but couldn't bring myself to upgrade to their newest version after reading the reviews so went with the Pixel 6 Pro. I've had it for over a week and the change in operating systems and controls has been an easy adjustment. It runs fast and the camera is top notch! I would recommend this phone to almost anyone. My frustration points: the biometric scanner doesn't read my thumbprint well. Especially if my hands are cold. I live in the upper Midwest, my hands are cold 8 months of the year. I don't like that the volume buttons are on the same side as the power button. It's awkward for small hands. Taking screenshots is a multi step process. Super annoying! No headphone jack but my Bluetooth connections have been seamless. So no big deal there for me. All those are on the minor side considering the overall functionality and performance.

Overall good. Finger print reader is worthless

Coming from a pixel 5. The camera and the phone for the most part is great. Cameras are a big improvement over the pixel 5. The software is currently very buggy with random little things here and there that I never noticed on my pixel 5 nor my Pixel XL. That bad is this worthless slow finger print reader. Why it was not left on the back of the phone where it would read my finger instantly and provide a way to drag the notification bar down we will never know. This in screen thing will sometimes refuse to read my finger so bad I have to use a different finger. Often time when it does read my finger it can take up to a second before it unlocks the phone. My pixel XL was fantastic but aged got to it so I went with the pixel 5. Got rid of the pixel 5 because it just felt like an afterthought and was not as impressive as the XL. I hope they can improve this finger print reader with future updates but at the moment I will be for sure looking for another phone next year most likely.
