Part of the phone's value proposition is premium support from Google, which turns out to be woefully inadequate.

My First Pixel

I've carried different Galaxy Notes for the past 9 years and I'm extremely pleased with my decision to switch to the Pixel 6 Pro. It operates so smoothly and continues to learn my likes and make me aware of options I have. I was concerned with battery life and time to charge from what I had read but have found both of these to be no issue as both work fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A great start to a lack luster experience

Let’s start with the Build quality, feels solid, hefty, well built with some interesting finishing choices. The display is very nice text and graphics are well sharp and looks very beautiful. However the feel of the screen appears cheap, hollow. Typing text on the screen makes very odd experience. The software really makes this phone feel unpolished and unrefined. The cameras are good, as usual but what’s surprising to me that with the new camera hardware the camera experience would be leaps better than previous pixels, but sadly that’s not the case. The FP sensor for me is a joke of an attempt. I was expecting perfection, but was hoping for positive consistency. This phone has so much potential to be better. I wanted to give my experience 5 stars, but with all the missteps and hiccups within the software….3 stars is all I can muster. I’m hoping the experience gets better, with future updates fix the hiccups.

Great phone I've loved having a pixel. Fingerprint reader is not as good as previous versions. I preferred the reader on the back on the pixel 3.

Good with a couple problems

Would give 4.5 if I could. Front facing camera has bugs and battery doesn't always stand up to continuous use but it is a great experience overall. Camera and display frame rate and color are absolutely outstanding. Pair this with much needed android upgrades and features and you have one of the best Android phones to ever come to market.

complaints about fingerprint detector

My right index finger and my left index finger are neither working on the fingerprint detector. Plus the really bright white light it shines in your face when using the fingerprint detector is unpleasant. I prefer my Pixel 4 face detector, although it couldn't do 2 images, with and without glasses. Also what happened to the function (on my Pixel 4) where if I'm in the same house (same wifi) it just stayed more or less open and didn't require face or pattern? Also, I want 4x camera on the smaller sized phone and I don't care about thickness. The fingerprint detector on my Pixel 2 was better than this one on my Pixel 6.

This phone takes amazing pictures and has an amazing display. My only complaint is that it's very slippery without a case.
