A downgrade from Pixel 3

This phone is way too big, even for someone with huge hands. The screen space is not used well, the launcher for instance only allows up to 5x5 grid even though the screen could easily fit 6 or even 8 icons across. The edges are curved and they register false positives often. The previous models had fingerprint reader in the back which was much more convenient. But mostly it's so large! Very disappointing that they didn't make a normal sized or even mini version.

Hardware is fine, software needs a lot of work

Aside from the fingerprint sensor, the hardware is pretty great. basically a Google made OnePlus 7 pro. Software wise, Android 12 is half baked. Lots of UI glitches and bugs and generally unpolished. The camera looks over processed and still unflattering. I hope things get better

Android 12 is full of bugs.

Where to start... Issue with just a simple feature. Phone app. I couldn't make a call to wife's Pixel 6. I had full service with 5G signal. Fix was to turn ✈️ mode on and then off. After that I was able to make a call. I had a pixel 2 and never had any issues until few weeks ago when it randomly started to reboot hence the upgrade. Issue with restoring data over wifi on WhatsApp, the fix was to turn off adaptive battery features. Also phone is less the a week old and already frozen twice. Since the adaptive battery features is turned off battery life is about a day. I don't play games or watch hours of videos. Just browsing the web most of the time. Seems like the battery life is as good as my Pixel 2 (Not XL). Am I going to keep the phone? Most likely. Android fan since day one but not a sheep so going to give Google few months to fix all this. Google should have never pushed out a half backed OS reminds me of Windows ME days.

Eh..it's nice looking. Made of plastic??..is what it feels like..not glass. Which I think is nice for cracks and such, but not if you're waiting on a phone case. That being said, it's super slick and can slide right out of your hands. Plus, most phone case huts only sell iPhone and Samsung crap. I'm not sure if I'm having the same networking issues as others have stated over the internet, but there are moments where I wonder why it's taking so long to load something over T-Mobile's network or even over WiFi. Had a 14Mb update that took about 4 hours to finish. It is nice that you can use your phone while you're downloading and installing the update. It only asks to restart once it has finished to complete the install. Overall, it's nice. I also made sure to turn off all the gestures. The screen never seemed to shut off with them on. And I disabled the music listener thing?? It was always listening to whatever music might be playing near me. Maybe I'm just old...(34yo).

Pretty good phone!

Upgraded from the pixel 2XL and I have to say, the vast improvements are really great! The ease of transferring information from my old phone to this one was a breeze and being able to individually select what I wanted transferred was an added bonus. The phone is easy to navigate and the tutorial on how to work everything was really helpful and fun to do. The camera is amazing on this phone also and so many neat features! I have to get used to the fingerprint scanner being on the front screen as opposed to the back, but it's really easy to access. The only thing I've had any trouble adjusting to is the way you swap between apps since there is no home button at the bottom, but it's easier as I continue using my phone. I would for sure recommend this phone to anyone looking to upgrade or get a Pixel phone, I love it!
