Good phone, but some issues

I'm upgrading from the Pixel 3 to this phone, so I'm really pleased with a lot of things. But I think I was hoping for more quality control with the price jump to 900 bucks. While focusing on big improvements, they were negligent on the smaller things. The first issue, the front camera is absolute garbage. I'm not sure how they managed to downgrade, and this is coming from someone with an old Pixel 3. And second thing is, while the telephoto lens is super impressive, there is a really bad lens switching transition. You'll notice it if you zoom all the way while taking a video. It's kind of annoying if you zoom often in your videos. Overall, still a huge improvement for Google. The image stabilization while taking videos is awesome, and I love being able to record in 60 fps while in 4k. But I'm basing my stars off the fact that they didn't get the simple things right.

Problem with fingerprint sensor

I love the new phone. EXCEPT. The fingerprint sensor. On the Pixel 2 XL, the fingerprint sensor on the back was very fast and reliable. On the Pixel 6 Pro, the front fingerprint sensor is not reliable. Only lets me in 50% of the time, and I have to type my passcode. This is in spite of me entering my fingerprint five times on the phone. The other issue I have is that the Pixel 2 XL was allowed to squeeze the phone sides to trigger the speech recognition. I used this all the time, and find I am getting used to slower hitting microphone button to activate speech recognizer. Overall, I am glad that I bought it. And I hope that they will upgrade the fingerprint software so that it will work better in the future.

WORST PIXEL EVER, going back to the 5

Too gigantic, barely fit in my pocket, and the 120 hertz screen drained the battery ridiculously. I made a big mistake- I thought that this was going to be a great phone and I'm sure it is, but I can't simply click things with one hand it's so giant you have to use two hands on a phone this large. I'm going back to my Pixel 5. Also, when are you guys going to figure out that we want our 3 and 1/2 mm headphone jack back?Would much rather wait for a more 'regularly sized' Pixel 7 to get my tensor processor and telephoto lense. Also according to Google fit you must keep your phone in your pocket to accurately measure cadence and speed. This is far too uncomfortable to keep in your pocket if you're on a bike, on a couch, or even walking around. Sorry guys, I just can't do a phone this big, and I owned a pixel 3 XL in the beginning. I went smaller for the improved battery efficiency and ergonomics.

Amazing

I have always been a Samsung user, but the S21 was a disappointment so I decided to give this a try. This phone is amazing. It's smooth it's fast and so efficient. I love the camera. The photo quality is top notch. I do not regret the switch for a moment.

Solid device, the camera is very good and the colors are very close what you'd see with your actual eyes, the OS is solid, haven't experienced any bugs or lag, runs everything smoothly, and the build quality is very nice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing phone but terrible camera for social media

I wish this phone's camera was a bit more refined. In low light situations, both the front and back cameras are horrible, ESPECIALLY when dealing with video on social media apps like Instagram or TikTok. If you are a content creator, your best creations will come from the default camera app itself, which is a little annoying. The pixel bending and focus range on the primary sensor is a bit sub-par compared to something like a Galaxy S21.This phone overall is amazing, super fast no hiccups whatsoever unless the phone is hot (which is normal). Battery is amazing, I get all day usage only having to charge before bed when the high refresh rate is on (which I keep on often, and adaptive brightness is turned off. The phone could easily last longer with those features disabled if you chose). The Google one storage integration into Google photos is amazing as well. Great buy if you're looking for a solid stock Android experience with Google integration through every app.

I'm enjoying this phone so far. I haven't had any major issues yet. The Android experience feels smooth/snappy. Nice looking display, above average battery, fast loading times, quality camera, and easy integration with all Google apps and products. The back camera has been especially impressive when taking photos, video quality good not great. Front facing camera could be better in general. Fingerprint sensor works well for me. Would like to mention that I was having some issues while on the November patch, such as battery getting too hot/shorter battery life. I originally transferred everything from my last phone (a non-google android) via the cable provided with the Pixel. After side-loading the December update and performing a factory reset, and then setting up the phone without restoring anything from my last phone and then just adding my Google account, most issues have gone away. I'm liking this phone so far, no major complaints and expect to see improvements with future updates!
