Installation was easy. Since I was replacing an old router with similar inputs, it simply required moving a wire from the old router to a similar input on the new one.
The one hitch was that using the Windows 10 browser service as directed requires the http protocol instead of https, but my main browser refuses http, and the other one I use makes http a hassle. I went in through the IP V4 address without difficulty. I expect most people use the phone app, but I'm mainly on a PC, and I want to control the router from the PC.
The Asus software did not like my changing authentication to WPA3 but accepted it.
Coverage of my 1300 ft2 apartment is much better than my 2 old routers, one of which was set up as an access point. Connection from my ThinkBook after waking up is faster than with the old routers, but it can still take longer than I'd like.
I bought Asus for the security and free updates. I've been another brand's customer for 10 years, but I'm too ...um...frugal... to like the subscription model they use for router-based security. Basic setup of AIProtection required changing one switch icon from off to on and turning off WPS and uPNP. The Asus RT-AX-68U uses the pro version of the software and costs less than the full pkg from Trend-Micro, so it looks like a bargain to me.
The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I've had the unit for less than a week, which isn't enough time for weaknesses to make themselves apparent.
Also, Fedex wasn't great. First they told me I'd get the pkg on Wednesday, then Tuesday, then Monday. They did not deliver on Monday. I ship a lot of stuff, and USPS has done the best for me, and I hope Asus takes another look at their shipping contracts.
I don't make heavy use of the router - 2 PCs use it during the day, and one TV streams at night along with some PC use. Looking at the stats provided by Asus, I think it can handle a lot more traffic than I feed it.

This is my 2nd RT-AX68U. The 1st stopped working after a lightening storm. It was still under warranty so I sent it in for repair (at my RMA shipping expense). Apparently it could not be repaired, so ASUS sent a new (shrink wrapped) as a replacement. This router performs very well upstairs in my small house (but I do use a WiFi extender downstairs for extra signal strength).

I have used numerous brands of home routers over 20+ years - ASUS is by far the best! The web interface is fully featured and intuitive to use. I was up and running in just a few minutes including connecting my own USB SSD drive to the router and using it as a NAS. They make very easy to be up and running quickly on a basic configuration then, at your leisure, use the GUI to explore the many options and features provided by the router.

I like this RT-AX68U and its inner workings. The app interface is great and the setup was really easy. Unfortunately I am finding a lot of dropped signals over the last two weeks. Granted I am using a netgear extender with the Asus devices so I'll give the machine some slack for that. The device is about 40 feet away from my extender which is in an inner room in my house. The signals are mostly strong but I am noticing that there are drops which concerns me. On a good note the device has two usb slots which actually work for my legacy printers. However, my old brother printer just does not want to work consistently on this device. My Hp 5 which is even older works with no issues at all. I'm using a brand new LG computer with wifi6 capability so the printer setup was a challenge initially all though the device would readily take a direct usb connection when necessary. Thus my rating of 4/5.
