Plastic magnifier arm bracket failed

Nice light but the bracket that holds the magnifying arm onto the lamp failed after about 10 weeks and the arm and magnifier fell to the floor when I was out of the room. The plastic bracket is not strong enough to hold the heavy magnifier. It's a very poor design, the bracket should be metal. I only had the lamp 10 weeks and it was lightly used.

10000 hours NOT!!!

I was given this lamp for Christmas last year. By September the globe is flickering so much it can’t be used. 10000 hours is just completely NOT true. No instructions on how/ if a globe/ bulb could be replaced. This was a complete waste of money I would give no stars if it were possible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Casts a shadow

Agree with previous reviewer. I’m a needlepointer and have used an older version of the Ottlite with bulbs and an Ottlite neck magnifier and that setup works well. Got this new version for our vacation home and agree that it is disappointing. It casts a shadow right on my work and the magnifier needs constant adjusting.

The light is bright, but it's difficult to position so that you don't cast a shadow on your work. I also had to keep adjusting the magnifier as I was stitching.
