My go-to craft light

I own four of these now, counting the one I gave to my husband. It folds for storage, and moves easily from room to room, depending on what I'm working on. The lit area is somewhat small, but it lights up my craft table well. I use the magnifier every time I open the lamp, so that's a nice feature. My main complaint is that the head of the light does gradually come down. You need to tighten often with a quarter. And the weight of the lamp is not sufficient to make the swivel worthwhile. You'd have to use both hands to turn it, one to hold the base and one to turn the lamp. While the product photo shows the lamp on the left side of the workspace, all of mine must always be on the right side of my work area, or I lose the use of the magnifier. The product info says the magnifier slides to either side, but that's not the case. Still, this has proven to be a favorite lamp.

I use this lamp for making jewelry. The light and magnifier is so helpful, especially when you buy pieces that you think will go together, and then see how wrong you were when you can REALLY see how they look! Love this light so much, I just bought a mini clip-on for my purse for when I am shopping for more pieces!

LOVE My OttLite!

Received the Magnifier Task Light as a gift from my MIL, and I LOVE it! I use it primarily for sewing and crafts, the light is amazing without hurting my sensitive eyes. The illumination it throws is like true daylight, and the magnifier is very useful for detail work. The portability is an added bonus, it folds up very compactly and the cord is nice and long.

Magnifier doesn't work as I wished for, for my eyes. The lens in the middle has a bit of curve which makes my eyes to not be able to see straight. I've bought my first one (task lamp) in 1999, and loved the product because of the color of light and the size. Years later, it died (well used!) and my age now, I got the one with Magnifier. I don't think I'll be conveniently using the feature tho... but other than that, Love everything about this product.

This is the third OttLite in my home. They are perfect for craft enthusiasts, offering perfect lighting for various projects as well as reading. The bulbs, though pricey, last for years -- like 12-15 years.
I would recommend this to a friend!
