Just get it!

I've used this for about a week now. I've been in the tech side of the industry for quite a while, and get to test out a ton of devices and I've reached the point where I'm not always easily impressed about how it might impact my day to day work.FYI - the review is based on my experience with XPS 15 2-in-1 which has a USB-C port.I've been a major user of the BeChiq line of portable monitors, and have typically loved them because of their weight and easy accessibility. The negative was that I needed to have the desk space and the ports (HDMI and a USB power source) to get the monitors working for the models that I have.In comes the Duex.PROS:--------+ I no longer have to worry about where on my desk is it going to fit+ one single cable, I don't need to carry a portable hub to convert it+ weight is just as light as the other portable monitors+ the magnets snap on really easily, plenty of leeway to monitor around if it is not perfectly centralized+ The swivel on the monitor, I've already found myself using it twice to show someone my screen while I was in the conference room - was not planned.+ took seconds to set up.+ Able to set up with four monitors (including the Duex) rather easily and quickly.+ I can carry it to a meeting and I automatically have a second screen.CONS--------None of these are really cons - but I figured I'd spell it out as FYI's:- I have not had the chance to test it out with a laptop that did not have a USB-C - I'm sure the user experience is going to change a little bit.- I sometimes forget that my laptop's is not used to the weight of the of the additional monitor, and it could be pulled back while I am carrying the laptop with the screen open. That's more my stupidity than anything else.Screenshot: I have a frankenstein set-up at the work place to make it work with my standing desk. With two main monitors (24" and 27") and my laptop, the duex has a different size altogether. :) Duex is on the bottom right.

Excellent Contrast, Sharp Images

The screen is extremely clear and has a sharp contrast. Perfect for me to use my laptop on the go when I need multiple screens. The installation instructions are clear and simple and it takes less than 5 minutes to put together.

I like the monitor, it's pretty sweet and definitely increases my productivity. It did come with a thin crack and chip on the screen (in picture) honestly I'm not sure how that happened as it was fully wrapped and new when I opened it. Just something worth mentioning.

You will never go back to one laptop monitor

If you're hesitating, do yourself a favor and buy it. I adopted multi-monitors long ago and saw my productivity skyrocket. But I always wished multi-monitor laptops would catch on. I'm so happy someone by-passed the OEMs and just added this add-on that works with any laptop. I LOVE this thing. Beware, it's not for everyone--the monitor is a bit on the small-side, so people with difficulty seeing small type might not like it much. I do feel it could be brighter. It is not touch-screen. (I don't know if anyone offers one, but that will be my next upgrade when available.) Also, be aware that it comes with magnets to attach to your laptop. These are NOT enough. If you use them, you'll need to have the base of the duex sit on the table for support, but that defeats the purpose since I already had an external monitor in my office. I need true portability. So do what I did and buy some velcro sticky tape (see last pic). The sticky tape claims to hold up to 10 lbs and it's true--it holds this monitor perfectly. I am never going back to single laptop monitor.Other points of interest:- Video plays perfectly. (I'm using the USB-C cable.)- Not touch-screen enabled.- There is no on-off switch, just a brightness control. I have to unplug USB-C cable or set my laptop monitor shutoff settings.- The USB-C cable (or the A cable, which is also included) provides all the power. No additional power cable.- Requires drivers be downloaded from the internet. No disc.- Instructions state that you can mount on left-side as the software/driver should allow you to flip the screen. I've not tried this since the default right-side is what I wanted.

Two Screens, Perfect!!

Your laptop has to be on some kind of surface. I use a laptop stand and it works well with that.It is a bit steep for the price, but I’m having to work from home full time just now and live in a two bedroom flat so I don’t have a dedicated space for a desk and two monitors, etc.Picture quality is fantastic, clips onto the back of your laptop monitor and slides out. Very easy to install and is practical. Once finished for the day, slide it back into place and tidy up!

Things To Keep In Mind Before Buying... But Still Worth It!

It's currently 10/6 that I'm making this review and this product was delivered to me on 10/2. Here's what I have to say.This is a GREAT second monitor to have. The speed and quality to me are great and I definitely feel I can work twice as fast with it. I did run into an issue with magnets (the first time). I didn't know how to position them properly and ended up destroying the first set. However, the second time was a lot better so I still have one spare set left and the monitor fits well on my laptop now.When I placed the second magnets on my laptop, I put some heavy items ontop of my laptop for at least 1 hr to make sure the magnets stuck and it has worked ever since. This isn't the type of monitor you can just pick up with your laptop and walk around the house with (Unless you have it in the case on the back of your pc but it may swing your monitor back to far if you're not careful), but it is good if you're sitting in a chair and recliner. I have a flimsy laptop screen but it doesn't effect it at all. It fits into my backpack just fine and the two cords we have are helpful for plugging things up.I combined this monitor with 3 items of purchase, my gaming laptop, a portable cooling fan, and a lap desk tray with a retractable mousepad. It's a wonderful work station though can be a bit heavy to carry in your backpack unless those are the only things you carry.Ultimately this is a 4 star because of the trouble with magnets, it's tricky to sheath my second minor unless the laptop is closed, and it came with a small scratch but nothing worth worry about. Still a purchase worth buying instead of a completely separate monitor that hogs up space on a table.
