I purchased the F17 because I have owned ASUS laptops since 2013. I wanted a new laptop that had higher performance levels for the processor, RAM, graphics card and screen resolution. When I finished with the MS setup (horrible experience with MS) I started using it to get familiar with it. I began to notice multiple problems from the start.
1 - Clicking on the camera app did nothing but bring up a black box and freeze the whole screen and system
2 - right clicking on a USB drive to see Properties kicked me out to the Desktop screen
3 - using multiple screens at once seemed to freeze the panels/system.
4 - Boot up took over three minutes to complete

On the phone with ASUS Tech Support for at least 30 min. Updated the BIOS, MS Windows update, etc.
Nothing worked. I was told that the unit had to be shipped back for repair.
I decided to return the laptop to the original seller instead knowing from reviews on line that it likely would come back without all of the issues resolved.

It's a shame but there are many similar reviews of this unit as well. I think that the graphics card/sw interferes somehow with the rest of the operating system. Overall just seemed very buggy; new issues would pop up the more that I used it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I will not leave stars. I’ve had my laptop for just over a week and since the windows update I have not been able to maintain internet connection. Not there, yet my phone and other lap tops are connected. This is utterly disappointing since I have an expensive lap top that is a glorified paperweight.

Great Price For An Entry Level Gaming Laptop.

There is a learning curve for the software to overclock and hook your phone up. Once you get the hang of it, it's awesome. The machine is overall built tough. It plays most games on ultra high settings. It gets loud when you're playing games so you need to wear a headset if that bothers you. Battery life is so so. That's the only knock.
