Great tax filing product

Have been using H&R Block software for filing for past several years. Most convenient. We have a rental and the software has made it easy to file and keep track record of every year for the rental.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

your return told me I would get 3032. back and the irs told me I owe them 498.00 I should sue you for fraud. not happy,

This product is difficult to use and contradictory.

At several points (e.g.. K1) you are on your own as far as trying to figure out what information to enter, where to enter it, and how it should be entered.
While preparing my federal return in April, I chose not to e-file. While printing a copy for my records, the program said I could not print and mail my state return. My Virginia return was not due until 15 May; Virginia requires e-filing. Since I owe Virginia money, I delayed filing my state return until 15 May. When I tried to e-file the Virginia return, I keep getting "you must e-file your federal return before you e-file your state return." Since I already filed my federal return by mail, and am expecting a small refund, e-filing now will be filing a duplicate return, and claiming 2 refunds - a federal felony. Not e-filing my Virginia return is a violation of state law, subjecting me (at a minimum) to fines, penalties, and prolonged harassment. Last year, using HRBlock's program, I mailed my federal form in April and e-filed my Virginia one in May without any problem. The change in this year's program was not disclosed during the process of preparing my returns in April or when I filed my federal return. To find out about it at this late date is absurd.

Error in calculations for State form this year.

I have used H&R Block tax software for many years, beginning back when it was called Taxcut. Never a problem. However, this year there was an error in calculations on my State tax return which resulted in me receiving a notice of adjustment from my State AND in a drastic difference in the State refund expected & received. A figure from the 1040ME should have transferred over to Schedule NR and it did not. The State caught this error and it resulted in us receiving $1214 LESS refund than what the H&R Block form calculated. That is unacceptable and very disappointing. Plus, now I am not sure if I will trust the software in future years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The program is very easy to do. However when I went to efile my return I got an error that code ABCD-1234 was incorrect why.
