Easy to follow except Childcare Tax Credit Section

I like this product and for the most part, I did not have any problems using it. There were good explanations. My only issue was with the Childcare Tax Credit. I contribute to a dependent care FSA which shows up on box 10 of my W2. Through the software, I was not prompted to fill in the fields (cost of my child's care, etc) corresponding to Form 2441. The software initially taxed me on my box 10 contributions, which are tax free as they are used to pay my child's daycare. My solution was to look up the corresponding worksheets and forms and manually fill them in so that the fields on Form 2441 were populated correctly. A google search of the problem indicated that this has been a recurrent problem in years past as well. I hope that HR block fixes it for 2017.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

The update caused me to have two case numbers and work off of two different computers. Also form 40 for Oregon wouldn't print.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using H&R Block Tax software for many years. I've looked at others, and even used a tax professional in 2012. I used H&R Block to correct the 2012 return as the Professional seemed unsure of several areas of my situation. Both my children use H&R Block on my advice and are happy with it. I expect to continue using this software in the future. My history with Tax Prep software: Up to mid 1990s, I used Parsons Technologies Personal Tax Edge and accounting software. It sold to the big I company in 1994 and they basically junked it. I tried their product and chose to use the Parsons accounting software until the single floppy disk would no longer load on to my newer computer. I began using Kissinger TaxCut until acquired by H&R Block. I have used H&R Block since.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare

Wish I could E-File for Illinois

You are still missing the 1299-C form for Illinois, which makes me file on PAPER. Every year, for the past 10 years, I always Hope that you will include it. I only need the High Impact Business Zone portion.
