I love myGEKOgear dash cams, I’ve have the orbit 122 dash cam before but I broke it due too misuse. I’ve had it for about 3 years, Loved the price and even got my boyfriend one. I like how simple things are they’re not complicated, Very user friendly. So I bought the orbit 500 because I like the way the design is for this dash cam and the wider range of angles I get. My dash cam has saved me in an accident when I got hit by a ford truck in January. In a big snow storm I was grained my car being fixed due too footage.
Amazing customer service as well, thank you.

Says it is a suction mount, it is not. Instruction book is garbage. Not a user friendly device.

Great Starter Cam

Although the instruction manual is not the best, for what you get for the price it’s great. When I read other reviews what features it has are there and you can modify how they work. But the manual lacks to help with that you need to know to play around with the unit to set it up the way you want it. Love the OBD connection supplied. Makes it so much easier to install and not tax the vehicles battery. Left it plugged in for over a month and no problems with the battery.
I would recommend this to a friend!

More bad than good

Pros: Comes with a memory card (although a no name card, I switched it immediately with a brand name higher capacity card), OBD cable
Cons: Image quality not great (very pixelated subpar quality for a camera in 2021), no GPS tracking, sticky mount (not a suction mount as mentioned on the box), sticky mount only allows camera adjustment vertically, camera is rather big, the wifi connection is slow and unstable never able to download a video to phone before the connection times out, the phone app (I used the iOS app) is unpolished and looks very amateurish, instruction manual not very helpful, transfer files to computer very slow (for faster transfers remove memory card and use a card reader)
On the fence: Got it on sale while it wasn’t expensive was expecting better product (I don’t think it’s worth it at regular price), wasn’t super intuitive to use at first but ok with some playing around, battery life can be better but since it’s made to be used plugged in not really a problem
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not working after 2 months!

I bought this on December, and now it’s not working anymore, only 2 months lifetime! And now can’t return that because it’s over 30 day by policy. If you have that , I recommend to return that as soon as possible.

this camera will not rotate, it will only move in the up and down. the power cable takes a dedicated aux plug in and is bulky. they should have used a usb cable instead of the bulky power plug.

Easy to set up and great price!

This is my first ever dash cam purchase and installation seemed pretty difficult when thinking about all the wiring, but it turned out to be super easy. All it took was a few minutes to plug everything in and then start hiding the wires. I have used the dash cam for over a week now and the day and night footage is great. Night footage had some glares but to be expected with some headlights. The wifi comes in handy to view and send footage without me having to go directly to my laptop to do it. The OBD cable seems to be pretty useful to power my dash cam while my car is off. So I am able to use the parking mode without having to hardwire the dash cam. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the dash cam, it came with 2 freebies = the OBD cable , 12 Volt charger and a micros sd card too. The dash cam works as advertised and offers great value compared to other models.
