A cool toy with excellent details!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The packaging looks so good and is very fitting for this high-quality figure. The battle cat's armor (helmet and saddle) both have a smooth finish and are easy to add or remove. The level of detail in the fur and the articulation of the battle cat are the most awesome part, though. You can really get creative with the dynamic poses that are possible thanks to the joints and twisting legs. The tilting head and jaw are great, too! My son and his father really like to play with this toy during their action figure play sessions. Whether you're buying to play with, for a collection, or for figure photography, this would be a great addition to your collection.

Whatta Cat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to play with and review. This toy is great for imaginative play and adventure. It's slightly large, vibrant colors and completely movable. Everything on this Battle Cat moves and the teeth are so realistic. The mouth opens wide enough to place other smaller objects into and be held securely. Its's lightweight, easy to play and with comes with two accessories. The accessories add extra aspects to the Battle Cat; the headpiece does not stay on securely, but it is not ruin the interaction with the toy. Overall, it's great for kids that love action figures and role play.

Battle Cat Rocks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have an 8 year old son who loves to play with cars, animals, bad guys, and video game/tv characters. As parents that grew up watching Masters of the Universe, we were so thrilled for him to get the Masters of the Universe® Origins Battle Cat® Action Figure! We have a lot of the old action figures so we have all really enjoyed the fun (and nostalgic) playtime.
The best and coolest thing about Battle Cat is the articulation in his upper legs, knees, neck, and his head. Just the movement in his neck/head alone is awesome - he can make multiple facial expressions while looking different ways. He is very sturdy though and can take a good beating (he has been tossed about in various battles and survived to tell the tale!)
His armor is pretty good. The head armor is sturdy enough and stays on most of the time, but some good shaking can wiggle it free. The body saddle locks in place with a belt which is keeping it very stable and in place, but I do worry that some continued taking on and off may break the little latch part and it wouldn't be able to clip in anymore. But, for more straight forward armor-using ground battles, it works out just fine. Plus, we have found a large array of figures that can fit in the saddle which makes battletime even cooler!
Overall, our family is really loving Battle Cat and would recommend it to anyone to play with, including those who fondly remember playing with Masters of the Universe toys as a kid. * We did receive this toy for free in exchange for an honest review as part of the Mattel Play, Rate & Review Program. We are definitely going to buy Beast Man and Skeleton so they can join in with some of our old MOTU figures and we can orchestrate some awesome battles as a family!

Great mobility

My son is 6 years old and really enjoyed playing with the Battle Cat Action Figure. It was fun to watch my son play with a toy that was a throw back to my own childhood. The other Masters of the Universe characters are sold separately. My son wished that he had He-Man to play with the Battle Cat, but luckily he had plenty of superheros to ride the Cat in He-Man's place. This toy offered great range of imaginative play. The helmet and saddle are removable, offering several different battle scenarios. What my son liked most about the toy was the mobility of the Battle Cat. The Cat's legs move at the shoulder joints and also the knees. This allowed him to be able to contort the Cat in several different positions, which he did. It also made for more realistic running.

It's Battle Cat!

This toy is much better than the original from the early 80s, but is lacking a bit to be perfect. The tail has no paint apps and the lack of ankle joints is disappointing. Otherwise it's great.

Better than the original

This keeps all the character of the original with the improvement of articulation. Could be even better if the paws were jointed, but pretty good nonetheless.
