I bought this to prune & trim my trees it works very well , has a long lasting battery performance , I am thinking of getting there inverter & another battery for emergency & recreation.

Essential yard tool. I was looking for a reason to buy a battery operated chainsaw. Spent 26 years in the fire service using the obnoxiously loud but powerful chainsaws so finding a quiet but powerful chainsaw for home use was key. And much easier to maintain. Greenworks shipping was fairly quick. It was very easy to put together. It was successfully used to cut back and clean out a very old laurel hedge. So nice to be able to fire it up with the switch on the handle. The chain did jump off the bar several times but it was easy to put back on - especially with the included tool attached to the pole. Looking forward to exploring more of what Greenworks has to offer. I am a smaller female but it is light enough to use even when operating on the longest extension.

Just used this tool to help my neighbor trim her tree. We trimmed branches up to 4 inches thick and it cut like butter. I read the manual, followed safety guidelines and I was very pleased with the ease of use. My neighbor was pretty impressed too!

Cuts wonderfully for 5 minutes until the chain comes off

Best cutting small saw ever, except the chain constantly comes off and there is no tension adjustment. am i missing something?

Thank you for your review. We would recommend reviewing the tensioning steps as outlined in your instruction manual and here:
1. Loosen the chain cover by turning the bar nut
counterclockwise. Please note, it is not necessary to remove the chain cover to adjust the chain tension.
2. Turn the chain tension screw behind the bar and chain
clockwise to increase the chain tension.
3. Turn the chain tension screw counterclockwise to decrease the chain tension. Ensure the chain tensioner is tight enough to keep the bar from moving.
4. When the chain is at the wanted tension, tighten the chain cover.
If this does not fix the issue, please contact GreenWorks Customer Care at 1-888-909-6757 and we will be happy to assist.

I bought this after a big ice storm to trim branches before they fell and this pole saw us excellent. I love how it takes batteries for my other Greenworks tools
