I have had a gas unit and an electric unit, both were such a hassle I only trimmed when absolutely necessary. With this unit I keep trees and bushes trimmed on a weekly basis.

It makes short work of my tree limbs. The extension is great, I would like to go a little higher and a little lower but don't often really need it. A little heavy and the strap is not really positioned great to help much with that. Can only really cut from top down and can be hard to get into spots. Having said all of that, I love it and it makes trimming the tree much faster and much more enjoyable. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Great battery life - chain housing could use some work.

The battery had a longer charge life than I would have expected and it had it had great reach. We got quite a bit of work done on just one charge. It was also nice that the battery works with our other Greenworks tools To balance things out, we had issues with the chain staying tight and I had to spend some time keeping it taut. There wasn't a chip guard, so sawdust was falling straight down onto your head. Be sure to use a tight fitting set of goggles.

Chain loosens up

The tension on a new or newish chain should be checked and tightened every 20 minutes of cutting or so, it can get away from you fast. This is normal stretching. Tension techniques can be found in the owner's manual.
