Great all around watch.

I use my Garmin primarily to log my runs and hikes. I love that there is music and garmin pay now on the newer models. It makes everything simpler and more streamlined. However, please keep in mind that it does affect the overall battery life of the watch but when not using the extra functions the battery life is just as good as I'm used to. Overall great buy.

Great watch for runners
on May 9, 2023

Right out of the box I already liked this watch. It's slick and not too bulky. It only took a couple of days of clicking through all the menu options for me to get a grasp of how it functions and what its capabilities are. And now that I've been using it throughout a month full of runs, I'm even more ecstatic that I had decided to buy it. I'm an active runner and I'm a huge fan of the data that it has given me after each run. It's wicked accurate at tracking my distances and gives me insights post-run based on my heart rate and cadence. I would recommend the Forerunner 745 to any runner.

Garmin has been -- and continues to be -- the standard for monitoring fitness and recreational activities. The wrist wear works great and Garmin Connect is seamless.

Great Multi-Sport Watch - Not Great Battery Life
on March 14, 2023

I used this one for about 1.5 years. It didn't have very great battery life, but to be fair, they do say 6 hours on GPS with Music. It just isn't enough for multi-Day adventures and never enough for an IRONMAN.
I had issues with the Altimeter from day 1. It never really worked well. Gave some seriously bad elevation. I would have gone through the warranty process, but when you use your watch every single day, it is hard to go without for the time it takes to get it replaced.
The wrist HRM is still not perfect and I don't expect it will ever be as good as the chest strap. That said, it seem only to only be off when running. I am guessing it is the movement of the watch in the running motion. I don't have my watch super tight, so it does move around a little. When I used it to broadcast my HR to my Garmin Edge 830, it seems consistent with how my HR feels. It also seems correct hiking, swimming, etc.
Overall, not a bad Multi-Sport life, but if you need battery, go for the Garmin Forerunner 955. You get all the features and better battery.

I love my Garmin Forerunner 745! I use it in so many ways. Predominently to view my MTB routes on trailforks and record the rides, but also monitor messages, check the weather, monitor my sleep and of course tell time.

I love my Garmin Forerunner 745

I have had this watch for almost 2 years now, I love it. Before I had this one I had another Forerunner which I also loved.
I love the features, the tracking different stats for different activities. Its waterproof, it's built tough to deal with my lifestyle. The strap is comfortable and I've never had any issues with it and skin irritation like I have had in the past with other brands' straps.
My only advice is really decided what you want out of a watch, this one is more expensive. Also take note of the size of it on your wrist. I liked the mapping features on the watch one size up from this one, but on my wrist I knew it was something I wouldn't wear.
