I’ve been installing these on Sprinter builds for several years, for a couple different upfitting companies. Last build was local for a friend, and I’ve been in close contact about his system’s performance. The 4 panels on his Sprinter (NC3V 177wb ‘16 2.1) paired to dual 200ah Renogy AGM batteries (LiFePo batteries aren’t ideal for our cold temps) have exceeded his expectations and perform flawlessly at 10,200ft, harsh weather and wild temp swings. I’ve just purchased the 400w premium kit for my own Sprinter and am installing (paired to the same 2x Renogy 200ah AGM batteries) this month. Having watched the Renogy 100w mono panels performance for years now, these are the only panels I’ll use.

With limited space on the roof of my 2018 Dodge Ram Promaster, I needed the extra 1.6 inch of space. I have 4 panels and a 2 MaxxFan, 1 in the front and 1 in the rear of the roof. (See Pictures) I am 100% pleased with these panels. I built a custom roof rack out of uni strut and had it powder coated to match the van. I think it turned out well. If my math is right, I have just enough room for my Coleman roof top air conditioner.
I originally purchased 4 of these panels as part of the 400W starter kit. Being very impressed with their construction and performance, I have since purchased 6 more. While still springtime in northern Illinois, I often get more than 100W per panel in good sun using a Renogy MPPT controller. The waterproof connectors are nice and multiple mounting holes provide mounting flexibility.

very solid construction at competitive price point, and appears that efficiency has improved at 6amps rating over previous implementation . The only feature that is lacking is that the wire contact tabs under the waterproof cover are soldered only, while a competitors unit also had cap head screw terminals for bare wire. Not everyone likes the MC4 connectors provided, as I have had them fail in the field.

I’ve had this panel on my Toyota camper for about 2 years.we do research and management on desert tortoises and this panel gets some rough and tumble abuse. Still works like new and never a problem. Superb quality and performance.

Overall a very good panel

Overall a very good panel But there are some QC problems to be aware about. I purchased 9 of these and they all put out 100w or better. Two of them came wired or labeled with reverse polarity and caused a short circuit. I quickly discovered the problem and fixed it myself however there does appear to be a couple of dark discolored spots on one panel that might indicate over heating of a cell, possibly caused by the short circuit, possibly just came that way from the factory. Anyway before you install these panels definitely check them thoroughly for discoloration and correct polarity. They are otherwise excellent panels for the money.

Better than expected

I hooked up six of these panels in a series/parallel configuration. Total power output of the array, in full sun, is 636 watts... which nicely exceeds what they are rated for. The panels are fairly lightweight and easy to handle. Easy to mount, too. Connections are easy with the MC4 connectors. Price is about the same as most competitors. Good product.

RENOGY 100W PV cell

The most fascinating aspect of RENOGY 100W PV cell module is it’s lightweight. The previous PV cell that, I experimented on, weighed approximately 12Kgs as opposed to RENOGY’s 6.5Kgs. The out put voltage and Current remains the same for each. The cost is also appreciably lower.
