[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this range to replace a forty year old unit. We do not like smooth top ranges and coil top slide in ranges were hardly being produced. Luckily we discovered Whirlpool had a high quality unit available and we bought it. We couldn't be happier. I was pleased it was manufactured in the USA. The design and build quality is excellent.
I tested this in the store and the only thing that’s keeping me from buying this stove is that the knobs are too big and interferes with the movement of pans. I found that I was constantly knocking my hands against them and would be afraid that my sleeves would catch on them. This is really too bad as it’s the only stove that came close to meeting my needs for a front controlled coil electric range. I hope Whirlpool is reading this and will consider a redesign of the knobs. There are still plenty of us that need these coil top ranges.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this range a month ago and I am very unhappy. When I turn on the burners on, even at low setting, water in a pan boils. I can never use medium. That's like turning the burner onto Hi. I called Whirlpool and sat on the phone for an hour until somebody came on the line and after another half hour he said they will send somebody out to fix it. I live in a rural area and no one has showed up for a week and half. They said call back if no one shows up and they will pay a local person to fix it. Oh great. Another hour on the phone waiting!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new range was installed last week so we don't have a long track record with it but overall it's very good. Where obvious shortcomings are evident is: 1 - the Bottom Drawer seems like an after thought - you will struggle to get it open - basically, metal on metal tracks - the storage space is almost useless - our old Amana had an easy to access drawer that held large pots - this one can't do that. 2 - the center sensor on each burner discolors with use - really? It's obvious after only one week of use. Eventually, they will look burnt out - not a good impression for a new stove. Come on Whirlpool, this is the best you could do? So far, everything else works as expected so that's good but the 2 pts I just made taint the overall impression.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I noticed the enamel is coming off already when I was washing it. It has not been scraped by anything. It has hardly been used. I I will need to get paint even thought the appliance is brand new. That was not a great discovery.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would give the range 5 stars if it had come with side flanges that cover the cutouts of the adjoining counters, like my old range did. I am aware that there are range extenders to use for this purpose, but the openings between the range and counters are not wide enough to slip the extenders in. I ordered the range from a picture and did not notice the lack, so I guess it was my fault.
