[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Yoga-930 laptop was having multiple issues causing blue screen of death. Spent weeks trouble shotting with Lenovo and finally sent in for repair and motherboard was bad. Although my old laptop was now working, I just didn't want to risk having other future issues so got the Thinkpad x1 because the Thinkpad series are more durable. So far its fine, the resolution of the display and sound are not as good as the Yoga-930, and the screen is slightly small, but overall its fine. The fingerprint reader is a little iffy given its the power button and fingerprint reader so frequently you must put in pin, and it takes some getting used to that the Control and FN keys are inverse compared to the Yoga series. The other bad thing is the page up and down keys that I have a tendency to kit instead of the right and left arrow but that just me fat fingering the keys. Other wise its fairly light, battery time if about 5-6 hours depending on what you are doing. One good thing is with the thinkpad series Lenovo actually updates software which you can easily do through the vantage button. For the Yoga series which I have had for years my computer never showed any updates through the Vantage software, but luckily, I signed up for email notifications and was able to get updates through the website. Also Thinkpad comes with windows Pro vs home which has some features that are helpful when doing trouble shooting. So those things are nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great laptop. I went with a ThinkPad for the keyboard and their reputation for being durable business machines. I use mine for damage estimates and appraisals, which require me to go on site to the location. I do wish that Lenovo would add in support for S3 sleep in windows, since the S0 sleep seems to eat at the battery life while the computer is in sleep mode. If I unplug the power after closing the lid, the computer will use significant battery and will sometimes be dead by the next day. If I unplug the power before closing the lid, it seems I don't have any significant battery drain. This is a pretty big problem that is more than likely a problem with Windows, but it is preventing me from giving this a 5 star rating. Otherwise, the machine is great. I like the built in privacy feature, and the port selection. The convertible function along with the garaged pen is perfect for inspections on the go. It is relatively fast. I do wish the RAM was not soldered in. It limits upgradeability in the future. So make sure you buy one with at least 16gb.
