Lasted about three days before it started boot-looping (no ability to get to BIOS).
Took it to an authorized service center, only to discover that the repair parts were backordered for 3+ weeks (no one was able to tell me how many weeks). Disappointing experience.

Nice laptop but with some big flaws

I have the model with the i7-1185G7 CPU, UHD+ display, 32 GB memory, 4G LTE, and I upgraded the SSD from 256 GB to 2 TB myself. It’s a nice laptop, but with some enormous flaws. First of all, the amount of backlight bleed at the bottom of the display is quite frankly scandalous for any laptop, let alone one this expensive. It’s not noticeable in everyday use, but is mightily annoying when watching a movie for instance. The glossy screen is also quite reflective, but I knew what I was getting. Next, the keyboard is atrocious. I’ve had ThinkPads since the mid-90s and every new model under Lenovo has had a keyboard a little worse than before. Well, now they’ve reached the point where the keyboard is about equal to the competition, I can think of any number of other laptops with similar quality keyboards. It’s a shame. The battery life is not impressive either (but you may get better mileage with an FHD+ screen). Finally, this thing is quite porky at 3.2 lb according to my scale. Consequently, using it in tablet mode is extremely impractical (not so much because of the 14-inch size but because of the weight), I’m having second thoughts about buying this model versus the non-Yoga X1 Carbon Gen 9.
I’m also bemused that getting a model with 32 GB or memory and WWAN is a custom-built configuration in the US and consequently has a long wait. It’s a no no-brainer configuration and is available in other markets.
I’m not unhappy with this laptop despite my harsh criticism of it. But it has convinced me that there’s no reasons to stick with ThinkPads anymore and my next laptop may well not be a ThinkPad. I can get a similar keyboard, specs, and build quality elsewhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
