[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The X1Yoga is an excellent device for business and pleasure. The keyboard has a very good feel and the device is well made.

Well designed and built, but not black?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been choosing to own ThinkPads going back to the 90s, and this one checks almost all the same boxes that the others have: Great keyboard, great touchpoint, well-built, adequate ports, good features, well engineered, good performance, etc. This Gen 6 is an upgrade from my well-worn Gen 1. The 3840 x 2400 screen is fantastic, and they reduced the overall size of the computer a bit while keeping the same screen size. I don't know why you would choose a 1920 screen when this one is available. Thank you for keeping an HDMI port - a lot of companies are forcing you to get a dongle to connect to non USB-C devices. The sound is remarkably good from such a small package. It's definitely quicker than the Gen 1, but not so much so that I'm saying "wow." The Gen 1 is still working well BTW.
My complaints on this one that knock off a star:
1. The aluminum exterior is nice looking, but I fear that it will not hold up to scratches and scuffs as well as the soft-touch surface of the Gen 1. It's also not black, so it's hard to call it a ThinkPad ;)
2. The power key/fingerprint reader is under the screen when closed, forcing you to open the lid, or flip it over if in tablet mode, to get to it. The side-mounted power on the Gen 1 was perfectly placed for all laptops. A side-mount power button lets you power it up when connected to dock or external monitor (yes, I know there is a power button on the dock, but I prefer to have the dock hidden away to reduce cable clutter).
3. The bluetooth is buggy. Come on Lenovo, are you telling me that nobody actually tested this thing with a bluetooth mouse or keyboard? If you stop typing or moving the mouse for >10 sec, there is a lag to the input from either the mouse (microsoft mouse) or keyboard (ThinkPad Trackpoint II). Yes, I updated, troubleshot, all that stuff - still lags.
4. No SD slot. The Gen 1 had one, even though it wasn't super easy to access. The SD slot let's you easily add a lot of storage space and transfer/read data from other devices without extra dongles/adapters.
Overall, I'm happy with this, but I think that I'll get some 3M wrap to give it a little scuff protection and a little more grip. Lenovo deserves kudos for keeping even the old models updated with drivers, so hopefully they will address the bluetooth soon on their newest ones.

Good enough, sick of MacBook Air

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have no idea why lenovo thinks I bought a ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 Intel (14") with Linux. Mine does not have Linux. I have had a fairly good experience with this laptop. I find that the face recognition works ... sometimes. Seems to work for a while, then all of a sudden... it doesn't. I have reset it twice with the same results. It sometimes doesn't read my fingerprint. I do have fine, softer skin, and have had trouble with this with other devices, yet the fingerprint reader was supposed to be greatly improved. I upgraded to Windows 11. It's ok. Some new layouts. I'm sure I will get used to it.
Size and weight of the laptop are decent. It's heavier and not as tough as my MacBookAir was. But still, not a problem for me and my lifestyle. there was a learning curve with the curser, which came with virtually no instructions. TG for YouTube.

Awesome machine with one big disappointment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quick correction: my machine is not a Linux machine. It's a standard Windows laptop. But it is a delightful piece of equipment. The keyboard and trackpad are as smooth as butter, much better than my 4 year old Lenovo Thinkpad. I am thoroughly enjoying the touchscreen and 2-in-1 features. The docked pen is always handy for signing documents directly rather than having to print, sign, scan. The screen colors are great. It's fast and does everything I need it to. My only complaint - and the reason for docking it one star - is that the battery life is nowhere near what is advertised. Based on the 3rd party reviews, I was expecting 10-12 hours of battery life and I am only getting 8 or so. I do not believe this is a problem with the battery because I had to return the first Yoga that was sent to me due to other issues and both the original and replacement computers have the same battery life. Nor do I use any particularly power-hungry programs; I mostly do word processing. I've installed the recommended power management software, adjusted power settings, screen brightness etc. and I still am getting around 8 hours. I'm keeping this machine despite the disappointing battery life because of it's other stellar features, however if long battery life is a must for you then you may want to think twice about purchasing this product.
