[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just as expected. I really like the hi def screen. It is light weight but still solid. The fingerprint reader on/off button has taken a bit of getting used to but it is cleaver. The pen is useful too but was hoping it would have been more like the bigger, thicker Lenovo pens. However, that it has its own storage space and won't fall out made me forget about the old pens that were always someplace in my computer bag. The lack of bloatware was great, didn't spend hours updating, everything was ready to go right out of the box. Good price even with taking all the upgrades.
I expect to get 10 years of use out of this laptop just like I have out of all my other ThinkPad products and log many thousands of miles. If you need a work horse, you really cannot go wrong with a ThinkPad. I have recommended this to my friends.
I just retired my Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 2 and upgraded to the Gen 6. I LOVE this laptop. Same great machine as my Gen 2, but quieter, more compact, and twice as fast (I ran benchmark software). The aluminum case is cool and sleek. Love the way if feels in my hands. Solidly built, very light. Easy to convert to tablet and back. I use it on a laptop stand with keyboard folded under (L shape). This allows me to have the screen much closer to me on my desk, to use the touch screen and for reading. I love the new non-glare screen. Very crisp, easier on the eyes than my old one. Heat management and fan noise have not been problems. I do a lot of video conferencing and it has worked great. I keep it on the max performance setting. These are the best laptops out there. My wife has a Dell and she may switch. Highly recommend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great machine! A bit on a heavier side (not a surprise based on specs, but the feeling under hands is noticeable compared to similar X1 carbon) still providing the needed yoga flexibility (especially selected because "stand mode" in WFH setup).
Fingerprint would be handy if located on the side of the laptop or under the screen for the apps that do not use face recognition (related to my main usage scenario - "stand mode").
It came with clean and up to date windows and everything was really allowing smooth initial setup.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i had an earlier model provided by an employer and it was rock solid through very rough treatment on the road. i decided to get my own and am really happy with it. i moved to lenovo based on my good experience, despite having been faithful to another company for many years. the construction is solid and the laptops tend to remain problem-free despite heavy use in difficult conditions. the only thing i regret is that this model doesn't include an sd-card reader. i don't like having to carry a separate reader, but it wasn't a deal breaker (well i could have gotten the carbon but i didn't want to wait four months...)
