[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use a carbon think pad and work and liked it so much I looked at ThinkPads when I needed a personal system. I like the simple docking stations. So far it's been great? The yoga is great hybrid with tablet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a Win PC not Linux, don't know how Lenovo got this wrong, but it is an adequate one for Win10. There is an option to upgrade to 11. I would have rated higher except for the fact the nub works like back in the early 2000's, ie it gets stuck in a direction, and wanders for a few seconds. I though Lenovo got rid of this, but now it is back. Too bad since this was the main reason I selected Levono It would have been nice to have larger storage options, 2tb and above like Apple. In fact that may be my next machine with 4tb.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this x1 yoga gen 6 to replace my old x1 yoga gen 2. I spend most of my time using Fedora 34 KDE, so I will make some specific references to my fedora experience below for those who might be interested. At first I wasn't sure how I would like the change in color (from black to dark gray). When I first got my hands on it, however, I was impressed. The chassis feels incredibly solid, especially on the top and sides of the monitor.
Just like my gen 2, it feels quite premium all around. Without the Oled screen, I didn't feel quite the Wow factor I felt with the gen 2, but the 4k screen is quite nice, and, fortunately easier on the eyes than I was expecting (a very important feature for me). I also see the value in the 16:10 aspect ration and the added screen real-estate with a smaller body size compared to my gen 2 due to smaller bezels. I love how the lid opens up with one hand and just feels smooth, study and premium quality.
In both Windows and Linux the performance is all around peppy. The only issue I had was with keyboard lag in Fedora. This was solved by deleting the event-calendar widget. This same app seemed to have caused KDE desktop environment to crash repeatedly. After deleting it, the issues appear to have disappeared.
In Fedora with minimal effort, I'm able to use the fingerprint detector with fprint (native support is coming with KDE 5.21) and gestures are working with touchegg and toucheggkde. The screen rotation works as well as it does in Windows after installing iio-sensor-proxy. I haven't tried yet to get the face recognition to work in Linux but there seem to be solutions. The pen doesn't lag and works perfectly.
Typing on the keyboard feels nice, and I feel that my typing is more accurate than usual. The trackpad is responsive, and is more appealing now due to gestures being available in KDE and Gnome. The camera shutter is a nice feature. I feel a little less like I'm in the panopticon. The audio is very good, and by far the best I've had on a laptop. I get consistent 800Mbps (my provider speed) through thunderbolt 4 Ethernet. I can't say too much yet about battery life since I'm using it from home and still following a COVID routine.
Overall, this is a classy machine. The only downsides I can think of so far are the lack of micro sd, the fact that the 4g and 5g are not quite ready for prime time (though I'm hopeful that will change soon once I'm out and about in the city again), and overall it's not as much of an upgrade from my gen 2 as I expected. However, this is largely due to the amazing quality of the gen 2. It's still an amazing machine 4 years later. I expect this X1 Yoga to last for many years too. I love the build quality and attention to detail.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been an awesome purchase so far. I have had no issues with it, and it has been running great for a few weeks now!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am super happy with this ThinkPad. It is a beautiful piece of equipment. It was very easy to set up out of the box. The system is crazy fast and reliable. I loved the fact that there was no advertisement software loaded on the machine. It was exactly what I was looking for at a super low price. Thank you.
