I purchased to replace an older Yoga workstation class machine as we were beginning to have driver issues with a newer wide-screen monitor. The X1 is faster, sharper looking and has a bigger faster hard drive and is more energy efficient than the older model. The frosting on the cake being this was also almost 80% cheaper too!! Cannot recommend enough!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a premium feeling powerhouse with mediocre battery life and a typically Lenovo glitchy thunderbolt dock.
The PC is blazing fast. The screen is awesome. The pen is exceptional. the keyboard and trackpad are even better than the last gen which was the best I had ever used. The aluminum chassis feels so much better than the carbon fiber.
The battery life is about 4 hours which is pretty terrible compared to my 5 year old Macbook air. The dock is a giant headache. If the PC goes into sleep mode while docked, I almost always have to hold the power button until it reboots to get my displays to come back on. I have changed the power settings so that it isnt supposed to go to sleep while on AC power but the issue persists.

The speakers sound great. It is super fast and can handle everything I have planned for it. It did take about 2 months to receive but that was expected since it was a custom build.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy all the features that this laptop offers such as the touch screen. I will have to say that the finger touch component is decent but not always perfect, so I decided to purchase the pen for usage with the screen in hopes that it will have more precision. I like the ability to close off the lens to the camera while not using it and feel that it is a good safety feature for when my 5 year old child uses it to play games. I also love the ability to stand the laptop up like a tripod and using only the touch screen with my child. The fingerprint sensor is also a great safety feature especially if you have sensitive data that you work with on the laptop. The only time this becomes a bit inconvenient is when the laptop is in the standing position and you're using something that needs your fingerprint to authorize. Other features such as turning off the screen pretty quickly if a person is not in front of the laptop for several seconds also promotes data safety. I am also very pleased with the Dolby/Atmos speaker system volume on this model compared to other ThinkPad models that I've had to use in the past. It gets very loud and I don't have to have it on full volume for audibility. I'm sure there are other features that I haven't mentioned that are also great in terms of functionality, but these are the ones that stand out to me the most.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in charge of IT at our company. About 5 years ago, I got turned on to Lenovo X1 Yoga. I ordered two, both Gen 1's. Since then, I have purchased 9 more through the years. We are a Commercial General Contractor.
I am also a Sr. Project Manager that uses it most everyday, for 8-10 hours a day. I pack it up and take it back and forth from work to home daily. We have NEVER had an issue with them... OK, my 3 yr old grandson took the red button from the keyboard to add to a Lego project (haha), but can't blame Lenovo for that..!
These laptops are being used by our Office Personnel, Accounting, and our In-Field Superintendents.
I am on my second one (a Gen 6) and our two Gen 1's is still being used within our company.
I am definately TEAM LENOVO and I can't say enough about them.
Reliable is the best thing I can say about them.

Great potential marred by the wrong compromises. 16:10 is good (4:3 is better) and performance is pretty snappy. Keeping ports is great. UHD screen is good; it drains battery but I'll take the trade.
But, degrading key travel is a bad move. The trackpad could be better. I'm all about trackpoint but still. The webcam is an embarrassment (iffy 720p in 2021). I would gladly take an extra millimeter or two to get a better overall package. Should be a divot to more easily open the device.
Finally, why not use magnesium or carbon fiber in the chassis - you'd make it lighter???
At work I use a gen 3 yoga; I certainly prefer the gen 6 I use for personal projects. But the improvements should be more material and with fewer trade offs. Worse still, my x220 in a drawer has a better keyboard -- why does it keep degrading?
Lastly, the config options are a mess. No LTE or 5G available; SSD often using PCI 3.0 even though 4.0 offered in other geographies; few "good" configs ready to ship in USA. Embarrassing.
