[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been years since I have used anything but a Mac Pro, but I recently spilled coffee on it and had to go looking for a new computer. I decided on the ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 Intel and couldn't be happier. It is easy to use and has made the transition back to Microsoft products easier than I thought!! Highly recommend it.

My new ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 computer is reasonably fast, was easy to set up, and seems to work well. But I am not entirely happy with it. It feels very "old school"--boxy and clunky and kind of industrial. I am used to a sleek, trim computer and this one just doesn't compare. Its shape feels awkward on my lap and in fact isn't all that comfortable as the top edge is rather sharp when the laptop is open. It looks more like technology reminiscent of the early 2000s, like the old black laptop that sat on my desk at work.

Gets the job done

I got it for my wife to do some moderate work-from-home duties like zoom meetings and emails. She loves it because it's not too heavy to carry around and it the 4GB of ram is fast enough for her to run multiple programs. I too use it for web browsing and have yet to run into any issues (even though I bought it refurbished.

The speakers are a little quite and I did have some issues doing very basic video editing which specs-wise I think my model should be able handle, but part of that seemed to be due to having an external monitor plugged in. Other than that, seems to be a good computer overall.

The things I like most about it are the touch of the keyboard, logging in with the fingerprint scanner, the bright display, backlit keyboard, supper fast SSD drive, and quick boot up from sleep mode. The computer feels sturdy and durable. I wish the fan would vent to the back of the PC. I use a bluetooth mouse on the right side and the heat blowing out gets a bit uncomfortable. All-in-all, I am very satisfied.
