Meets My Needs

I bought the item last week and just used it today. I am pleased that it will meet my writing needs. I wanted a device that would turn my hand written notes into typed print to avoid jotting down personal notes and then typing them for filing purposes. I hate typing, so I generally write things in a note book. I have too many notebooks and was looking to “downsize”. I was horrified that I would have to potentially buy an iPad ($$$) just to get an app that could transcribe my writing. My investment would have included the iPad, app, multiple notebooks over the years, pens, and shredder (as needed). With Rocketbook, I invest in a notebook, pen, and water. I have read reviews noting overtime the pages get to a state where they can no longer be erased, but with the savings from not buying an iPad and an expensive app, I will be okay buying another notebook in the distant future.
Pro: uploads content as stated and transcribes writing into text, easy to wipe and reuse, and reasonably priced for my needs.
Cons: the spiral paper wrapping is too tight making it difficult to turn pages, (I received pages that were double-hole punched that is making them easy to come out), and it was a little tricky following the instructions to get items converted to text. Basically, it cannot be on “auto-send”. You can have it on “Bundle Scans,” like the image in the instructions for it to work. The instructions do not highlight it must be on “Bundle Scans,” so clarification is needed. *Note: I put the double-hole punched pages con in parentheses because I hope I was one of very few people that received a book in this state and that it is rare to sell books in that condition. So, hopefully this con will not be yours, too. I still plan to keep and use the book, I just feel you should be gentle with turning the pages because of the tight coils.
Potential upgrades: ability to recognize shapes (e.g. if I put a number in a circle), ability to recognize crossed out text, and a Microsoft word format option. I think the MS Word option will help with crossed out text. If I write something incorrectly, I had to wipe the entire line I wanted to replace. The cloth wipe does not avoid text that is in close proximity to the text I want to replace. Perhaps a cloth eraser cap would help, similar to the portable white boards that do not have the general big 6x3 in eraser. The marker has an eraser on the top of its cap.
Overall: I would highly recommend to others

Sustainable Solution
on January 27, 2020

I was on the hunt for a sustainable solution to yet another paper planner & diary. I never thought that a targeted instagram ad would provide the solution, but lo and behold, it did! I'm on my third week of owning a Rocketbook and I'm in love. I carry it everywhere, use it for everything from a weekly planner, monthly, and yearly habit tracker, workout tracker, work and meeting minutes, board meetings, and planning out landscaping plans! The tips and tricks sent via facebook or on the youtube channel have been great and I've found some phenomenal ideas in the rocketbook community! I've told my friends, my bosses, my fellow board members... It's amazing!

2 Books worked for about 6 months and stopped being able to write in it

Similar to other stories both my daughter and I have Rocketbooks that after 6-12 months of work and multiple cleanings have started to resist ink. I can only assume that each time you clean this (we just used water and the cloth provided with our RBs) that you are removing a layer/coating of whatever allows you to write on this.
From the description of the product: "We designed the Core for those who want an endlessly reusable notebook to last for years, if not a lifetime." I can assure you (as can others if you research on the internet) that unless you never use it, it won't even get to a year.
Considering all Rocketbook support will do is offer you 15% for a new one I have a hard time recommending these to people anymore. Fortunately, you can at least use the Frixion pen on standard paper.

The pen doesn’t dry fast enough. By the time you lift your pen up, you see all this smudges. The concept is there. Love how people are trying to save trees... better luck next time.

Worked great for a while

I loved my Rocketbook at first! I was using it repeatedly for notes, thoughts, ideas, and much more, sometimes uploading the information, sometimes not, and all while reducing paper waste. But over time, I noticed the pages began resisting ink. At first I thought the marker dried out, so I tried a new one, but it was definitely the pages. Eventually some didn't accept ink at all, so I just cut them from the book and threw them away. I don't remember how many times I erased and reused the pages, but I know I expected much more.

Great initially!

This product is great! I love the idea of sustainability and that I can keep all my notes in the same place... however, after using the front pages a couple (3) times the pen no longer writes on the page, the pen is brand new and I haven't used these pages enough to have them not writing? I would love this product if this was not an issue!

It is a huge messy pain to wipe down and get dry. Pages probably won't ever go back to looking clean and tidy.

Idea is great to reduce paper use, however book pages seem to wear out quickly making note taking more difficult and the need to replace booklet more often. While paper use might be negatively impacting environment, disposing of numerous plastic/non- biodegradable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
