I recently (1-month ago) purchased my GE refrigerator. After waiting 6-months for the backorder manufacturing and delivery, after a short 1-month of operation the unit just quit working. First it was the freezer that wouldn't hold temperature which caused ice maker to leak out on to my wooden floor. It was a telling sign of the refrigerator that also stopped cooling. Very sad situation!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

constant buzzing sound

Have to constantly do a "hard" reset to silence annoying buzzing. Trouble shooting guide is useless. Less than 8 months old. Regret buying.

There are not enough configurations to move the shelves to fit a gallon of milk. It is very inconvenient. We were disappointed with this refrigerator.

Great except for the water dispensing.

I love everything about this refrigerator except one thing. The floor rate of the in for water dispenser is very slow. It takes 4 minutes to get 8 oz. of water. I've done all the trouble shooting without improvement. I even got the water filter bypass plug, put it in and still very slow flow. So we still get water from the faucet but get out ice from the door dispenser.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We've owned GE appliances for years. Our refrigerator was 18 years old and it still worked great! I'm a diy'er and had maintained it with new parts as needed. Very few were ever needed. The only major issue we had with it was a power surge that fried the motherboard. This was about 4 years ago. In the process of fixing it I tested the compressor and found that it was running at just a little bit below factory specification! This was after 14years of flawless service! I slapped in the new motherboard and it fired right up like nothing had ever happened.
We got this, new to us refrigerator, by a happy accident. It was basically, sitting unused in an office building. A friend of mind asked if I wanted it because they were shutting down their operations. After looking it over I said Hell Yeah! It still had all the packing tape on it holding the drawers shut, the water had never been hooked up and it still had the protective plastic film on the control panel. It was basically NEW! Talk about a score! Anyway, we love it! We're planning a full kitchen remodel and this "new" refrigerator is the official start to this project. I have no doubt that we will get years of great, trouble free, service out of this appliance.

The new GE refrigerator replaced our previous 27+ YEAR OLD GE Profile that was starting to make some knocking noise. The new frig works great, very quiet and fits perfectly in our kitchen. The shelves and drawers are taking a bit of time to reorganize our items and overall we are very happy.

This is a not to well thought out design. It is impossible to read what the buttons do without a flashlight. Also being a smaller width model, you need to open both doors to access and open the fruit and vegetable drawers.
