Poor Quality

I have had my refrigerator serviced three times now. The water line continues to freeze despite changing the temperature sensor twice. I have been unable to use the water line at all. This refrigerator also continues to freeze items inside the fridge.

So Far a Poor Choice

After waiting 3 weeks for delivery, this refrigerator took about 2 days to get down to 40 degrees. Then, even with the set point at 34 degrees, the temperature varies between 38 and 41 degrees and never gets colder than 38 degrees. We have a replacement on order, but it’s 3 weeks for delivery. Fingers crossed the replacement works right.

Hi - We are terribly sorry to hear about the concerns you're having with the internal temperatures of your new refrigerator. This is certainly not the owner experience we want for you or expect to hear on our refrigerators. We are glad you have been able to make arrangements for a replacement and are sure you will be delighted with the new unit. Please be sure and keep in touch. Vikki@GEA

WE PICKED UP THE UNIT OURSELVES AND UPON GETTING HOME REALIZED IT WOULD NOT FIT THROUGH OUR DOORS. THE DOORS WERE EASY TO REMOVE AND REINSTALL ONCE WE GOT THE UNIT IN PLACE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointing

Our GE refrigerator feels cheap, doesn't hold as much food as our previous fridge of the same size, and it dispenses warm water.
Response from geappliances.comBy Sarah@GEAGE_AppliancesAugust 30, 2021
Hey there, and thanks for taking the time to leave a review for your bottom-freezer refrigerator. We sincerely hate to hear you have concerns over the quality and capacity of the model, and the temperature of the water dispensed. We strive to provide a great ownership experience and would like to assist.

Warm water being dispensed is normal when the refrigerator is first installed, or if the dispenser hasn't been used in awhile. The unit has a water reservoir coil in the fresh food section that holds 12-24 oz. of water. The water is chilled and stored there, but because the coil is not in the freezer section, the water will not be ice-cold. Once the ounces held in the coil have been dispensed, any additional water that is dispensed won't be chilled until the water in the coil has had time to cool again; this can take up to several hours.

We also regret that you have a concern over the quality, as we build our appliances with durable materials that are built to last. Your feedback regarding that and the capacity of the unit will be sent to the Refrigerator Design team for future review.

We're happy to help if you have any other questions or concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

Very Noisey

I am in my 70's and have owned a lot of refridgerators, but none as noisey as this. When I complained to the store owner, he said all the "new" fridges have noisey compressors. It had a really loud, grinding noise when it is doing it's cycle.

Hi there, and thank you for reaching out to us about your experience with your bottom-freezer refrigerator. We truly hate to hear you are dissatisfied with the sound level of the unit; we know something like that may be concerning.

Newer refrigerators can indeed sound a bit different than older models, because of increased features and newer technology. There is a description of the normal sounds we expect to hear on page 42 of your manual. We also have an article on normal sounds your refrigerator might make here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=15901 .

In spite of the differences with newer models, we do strive to meet the industry standard for noise and provide a peaceful atmosphere. We regret that this hasn't been your experience, and we will certainly send your feedback to our Refrigerator Design team for review and possible future alteration.

If you have any other questions or concerns, we are always happy to assist. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Needed a Fridge fast, this was available.

Previous fridge died prematurely, failure of linear compressor. Hopeful this one will last longer that 5 years. This was the best option in the 33 inch width. Did not want to buy the brand that just failed, even though some features were nicer. Bought sight unseen, as no one local had one on display. Underwhelmed at the adjustability of shelves. The split shelf can only be used on the right side. Some wasted space in the design of the produce bins, on the sides, where they slide. The large bottom drawer below the produce bins doen't slide as smoothly as my previous one. Would have liked a separate butter compartment. A bit expensive for the overall quality. But, happy to have a fridge, after a week without, in summertime heat. Cooling well and keeping accurate temps in both fridge and freezer.
