Keyboard layout is annoying, can't lock the 'fn' key to more easily access volume/brightness keys PC gets really hot, battery life is disappointing. Charger is gigantic yet very short cable
This is my first HP Omen, love the overall power of the Intel chip and RAM. I didn’t know and was disappointed to learn the PS Standard keyboard is a different design than a business keyboard. I’ve owned and loved a HP business Pavilion in the past, but I couldn’t find a Pavilion with enough power. Because of the PS standard keyboard, I would not buy another Omen.
An excellent laptop all around, the weight reduction from previous models is fantastic. I do miss having a pin pad on the keyboard, but it's a toss up whether the extra size that would require would be worth it.
The laptop is fast. I ran the perfmantest and it is in the top 99%. Here are the items to keep in mind when buying this laptop 1. Weight - 6.5 lbs. Its heavy. 2. Power Brick - The largest power brick I have ever seen. I think it weighs 3 to 4 lbs. 3. Trackpad - When playing games and the laptop heats up. The trackpad starts failing. It works with the finger gestures but not the bottom left or right corner. Not sure if this is just my laptop but will be contacting HP 4. Update your Bios - A lot of initial issues I had was due to not having the latest bios applied. 5. Not a fan of preloaded software - HP you need to stop loading junk software like antivirus and other software that does not provide any additional support for the laptop. 6. HP - Would be nice as a gaming laptop that a logo would light up.
