Second Greenworks Mower, Love It!

This is my second corded Greenworks mower and I love it. No gas. No charging a battery. Even the wife and kids enjoy mowing without dealing with gas. The cord can be annoying for some at first, but once you get the hang of it it, its not a big deal at all.

Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so surprised how powerful this lawn mower is. It can cut through just about any length of grass. For taller and thicker grass there is a turbo mode. It has several different adjustments from the height on the deck to the height of the handle. The handle even fold over flat for space saving storage, you can hang it on the wall. Came fully assembled all but the grass guard the storage caddy and the handle but it was very easy to put those on. Also, it came with 2 batteries which are impressive how long they last and how fast they recharge. I was able to mow my whole back yard and side yard with full battery, they then recharged in about an hour or a little more. Has a safety key for when not in use so kids can't play with it and get hurt. Easy to start with the push of a button. Very quiet when running. Definitely recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are so many features of this lawnmower that I love. The size is perfect to fit in my 2 car garage without taking up too much space. We have a smaller yard and this mower is just the right size for getting around the sides of our house and cleaning up the leaves as well. One of the best parts is the rechargeable battery! Love this more environmentally conscious feature as well. The drill and batteries are just a added bonus! It is really awesome those come in this package as well and it was a nice gift to give to my father as we had a drill already!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best electric lawn mower I have ever owned! Previously I had a corded electric lawn mower which was ok, but really a pain to not run over the cord. From there I upgraded to a smaller battery mower, but it was 16 inches wide and took a long time to mow the whole yard. This one is perfect. At 20 inches wide it has great mow coverage and plenty of power to get the job done. I also love the drill that came with it as an added bonus!

Lightweight and quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this mower by Greenworks. I had never seen a battery operated lawn mower but I loved the idea to try one. My son mows the lawn because I am disabled. He said that pushing it is a breeze and it is really quiet. He loves the fact that it is battery operated and that he doesn't have to go get gas to mow. We have a small yard and can be mowed on a charge by the two batteries. If you have a larger yard you will have to get extra. He said he like the grass catcher on the back. It eliminates a lot of blowing off the side walks and porch. The mower is easy to start and adjusting the height of the cutting size. The batteries also fit on the drill that was included which is a great bonus because we needed a new one. It is a little pricey but worth it . I will recommend this product to family and friends.

Good machine but batteries last less than 30 minutes.

For the most part this is a nice machine, it's quiet and mows well. The only drawback in my experience is that with both batteries fully charged i only got about 25 minutes run time which was just short of enough time to finish my yard. I expected to be able to mow my entire lawn with battery left to use the string trimmer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Tim Logan,

Thank you for your feedback. While the battery is capable of running up to 45 minutes as advertised, this is in ideal conditions. It's important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life! It goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few mowing tips.
1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

I have the snowblower so I thought I would try the mower. While its easy to use, charge the batterys and drop them in, and is easy to start, its very heavy. I wish I had sprung for the self propelled. I am kind of stuck but for me, this is almost as heavy as my gas lawnmower, just easier to use

Hello Mowing mom,

Thank you for sharing your experience with this lawnmower. We greatly appreciate your honest feedback as it gives us a better understanding of where we need to improve moving forward. We are sorry to hear that the unit has not fully met your expectations. If you find the unit hard to push, try raising the cutting height. If the grass is too high and the setting too low, this causes unnecessary resistance and makes the unit hard to push.
