Dishwasher is fantastic!! My favorite feature is the delay wash! I set it to run while at work and dishes are fine before supper! Highly recommend!!

Cheap Construction

I purchased this model to replace a GE GDF630 model that was less than 2.5 years old. The older dishwasher's circuit board went bad and I placed an order for a replacement part. The part was backordered of course with an estimated shipping date 4 weeks later. The estimated shipping date has been pushed back a week, every week, since with no end in sight. I finally got tired of waiting on the replacement board that GE has already charged me for and washing dishes by hand and purchased this GDF550 model. While installing the new dishwasher I noticed how cheap the construction is even compared to the older GDF630. The legs are made of thin guage 1/4" steel tubing. The holes for the leveling screws were drilled at a slight angle causing the leveling feet to bow outwards. There was a screw missing on the docking port on the inside of the tub. The kickplate is made of thin plastic and the noise level is louder than the GDF630. Overall, buyer beware. The circuit boards on these dishwashers are junk and don't expect to be able to get a replacement if yours goes out. The only reason I got another is to stick with the GE Slate color of the other appliances in the kitchen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
