Several times recently it runs a cycle without using the soap in the dispenser. We just bought this less than 90 days ago.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from geappliances.comBy Mike@GEAGE AppliancesNovember 3, 2021
Hello,

We're awfully sorry to hear that the detergent in your dishwasher is not dispensing and know how much of a pain that is. If you have dishwasher detergent stuck in the soap cup after the end of a wash cycle, here are some things to check:

Detergent may be old, discard it and use fresh detergent. Store detergent in a cool, dry place, especially powder detergent.
Check the spray arms for blocked spray holes.
Make sure the soap cup is not blocked by anything:
Reposition the dishes so the water from the lower spray arm can flush the detergent cup.
Reposition the tall utensils or heavy silverware that may be keeping the dispenser cup door from opening.
Do not place large bowls or pots directly under the detergent dispenser.
Verify the spray arms are turning on their own. To test:
Mark the spray arms with a piece of tape or a rubber band or observe their position.
Run the dishwasher for at least 3 minutes. It is necessary to run the dishwasher for at least three minutes because the spray arms alternate on some models.
Open the dishwasher door and observe the location of the spray arms. They should be in a different position than when the test was started.
Make sure the soap cup actually opened at the end of the cycle.
Check the filter area inside the dishwasher for any restrictions.
The incoming water temperature should be at least 120 degrees, but no more than 140 degrees. You can test the water temperature by running hot water into a container at the sink and measuring the temperature there.

If the detergent cup is not opening or the spray arms not turning, then service may be needed. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

Stay safe. Mike@GEA

Gets dishes very clean and is easy to operate. It is also pretty quiet. The drying features work very well. It is worth getting the full PDF manual online, since it does not come with the full manual.

Nice upgrade to cleaning, extended time though

Love my shiny new dishwasher and the improved cleaning power, but it does take awhile for the cycles I choose to try to increase the end dryness. Appreciated the sanitizing cycle when my husband and I had breakthrough covid last month!
