We'd like to provide some clarity on your dishwasher. It is normal for your unit to run for up to two hours or more under certain conditions. Cycles times vary because of the clean sensors due to the sensor extending or decreasing cycle time, and the number of fills based on the soil level.
Dishwashers now run longer to ensure good wash performance, but keep in mind that they use less energy while running now! Also, in using less water, your water heater doesn't need to provide as much hot water. Therefore it isn't using energy to heat more water.
