No Fizz

When my Penguin died, I replaced it with the Aqua Fizz, the only remaining model that uses the glass carafes. What a disappointment! To get even minimal fizz takes at least 20 hard pushes. I don’t understand how Sodastream can put its name on such a useless machine. Bring back the Penguin!

Not as good as the original push button

We didn't want to have to plug in our SodaStream, and we would prefer to screw in the bottles for a tighter seal. The new machine performs differently with a new cartridge (overflows and spills water) than with an almost empty cartridge (doesn't carbonate the water completely). We wish our old original was available for purchase instead. This machine is NOT an upgrade to the original.

No more cans!

I love this product because it is so easy to use. We make seltzer all day long -- sometimes with flavor, but more times without. This is so much easier than lugging home cartons of canned or bottled seltzer. It works just as advertised and doesn't take up too much space on our small counter.

It will not save me money...

because we are drinking a lot more fizzy water than ever before. But we are thrilled to not be carrying water from the grocery store. That always struck me as stupidly inefficient.
We are happy with the purchase. The glass bottles are more elegant than the plastic. And they won't get all scratched up after a few months of use, like the plastic do.

My bottle runneth over

I love the Sodastream products, but the one touch overflows. We have made sure to keep the water at or under the marked line and it overflows every time i we select 3.

Upgrade?

We bought the aqua fizz to replace an earlier SodaStream that they no longer make. It still worked but we hated using the plastic bottles (that have an expiration date) and we really wanted glass. This was the only option.
I love the new glass bottles but the machine is a little clunky and I don’t feel like I can get the same level of fizz like the old one, even after pre-chilling the water. The other big issue which I read on some reviews is that it leaks a little into the bottle holder after you open it and you can’t easily dry it out. 10/10 for glass 6/10 for the design.

Flexible carbonation

East to use. Produces a pleasant level of carbonation with one push, not as strong as commercial bottled soda water which I find is too acidic. Can easily add another push for more. Same for flavoring. More convenient than bottled water.
