I'm generally pretty impressed so far. I am coming over from a lifetime of a Coleman grill. I like the concept of cooking on a griddle quite a lot, and I particularly like the fact that I can use metal tools on it with apparent impunity (though I admit this still freaks me out). I don't know if it's just mine but the starter won't light until I've done it about 3 times and seems very finicky for being brand new. And if, probably when, it gives up completely and I have to go to match lighting, the grill design makes that a major pain. So I'm concerned about that and that's why it's only getting 4 stars. Cooking results have been pretty stellar so far, even cooking eggs.

Great but not quite hot enough

I purchased a 17 inch Blackstone while I love it I don't think it gets quite hot enough. During the initial setup no matter how long I left it on the oil never smoked like it tells you to do for seasoning. I used the seasoning oil that was suggested and it just never ended up smoking at all. While the grill does work well, I find it takes quite some time to cook things while the bigger grills seem to cook quite quickly. half an hour to cook bacon on the grill where my friend has a 28 in and Cooks bacon and things in just minutes so while I love it I wish I had gotten the bigger one so that it would get actually hot enough for fast cooking.

Great griddle! I like it a lot. It just came missing one of the legs on in so it doesn’t stand straight!

Poorly designed and chemical burning

Why is it so difficult to find a propane grill/griddle where common sense was used in its design? The body of this griddle gets dangerously hot. You WILL burn yourself. Other manufacturers double wall the inside to prevent this. Even the lid, handle, and faceplate get very hot to the touch. This thing is really heavy. There's no reason the iron griddle surface needs to weigh over 10 pounds. Also, the lighting mechanism didn't work. I had to bend the metal contact closer to the heat element to make it work. I set it up for the first time and turned it on and something inside began burning. A large amount of smoke is coming out from under the griddle surface.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
