Exceptionally noisey

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range hood was in the home when purchased. I will be replacing sooner than later as it is supper noisey, sounds like an airplane is in the house. One can not hear the TV or have a conversation when going.

A great direct exhaust hood

Insuffiecient Air Flow

I also found the air flow to be insufficient. I can easily set off smoke detectors with the fan loudly on hi speed. Mine was installed in a new house with the vent and flapper on the side of the house. I noticed in the installation instructions that if I have an external flapper vent, I should remove the damper supplied with the unit. How can I confirm that this was done by the contractor without taking the whole thing off?
