The phone is fast has good service, but I love taking pictures which is why I always get a promax or a pro, but the placement of the flash is stupid so it throws a shadow on everything you take a picture of I think I’m gonna go back to a 16 or keep my 13pro Max

Hey Mandy, thank you for sharing your detailed thoughts and experience with the iPhone 17 Pro Max. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the phone’s speed and service, but we understand how important photography is to you, and how frustrating it can be when the flash placement impacts your shots. Your feedback about the shadow effect is valuable, you might find that adjusting the angle slightly or using natural/ambient lighting can help reduce shadows for certain shots. We want you to love every aspect of your device, so if you’d like, we are here to walk you through some camera settings and tips that might improve your flash results. Thanks again for helping us improve — your input truly makes a difference.
Meanwhile, here are few tips you can try to enhance the camera quality:
1.Adjust Shooting Angle: Positioning the iPhone so that the flash hits the subject from a more favorable angle can reduce shadowing. 2.Experiment with slight rotations to find optimal lighting. 3.Use Supplemental Light: Employing external LED lights or portable soft boxes can provide more even illumination and bypass the limitations of the built-in flash. 4.Avoid Direct Flash in Close-Up Shots: For objects very close to the camera, direct flash can exaggerate shadows; soft diffusers or bouncing light may help. Leverage Night Mode: Where possible, use Night Mode instead of the flash, as computational photography can provide more evenly lit results without harsh shadows.
