Was the last one in a group of friends that still had a non-Apple phone. Could not air-drop pictures with them and recently they started using polls in iMessage to figure out where to go eat or rides (bikes) to go on. Was feeling left out so I switched to an iPhone. I use the iOS on my iPad and switch back and forth so it is not a huge step. I pay for storage on Google and have used their apps for many years, and using them on the iPhone for the most part is not an issue. I have my pictures backed up on their Google Photos and use gmail on the iPhone. I use Chrome as my browser. And now I can do polls when we text.
The one thing I am getting used to is the interface for the pages of apps. On the Android I could make a page for all my biking apps and a page for my EV apps and one for my travel apps. It is harder to organize them on the iPhone. I guess I’m not 23 like my son who shows me his screen and doesn’t have a problem with it, but he has grown up with iPhones. Small 1st world problem.
The phone isn’t much different than my Samsung other than I don’t like how much the camera lenses stick out the back from what I was used to. It is a small price to pay to be included in the group.
