amazing value, love everything about it, hasn't disappointed so far for 6 months. 300 fps is nuts, led strips go crazy, and design wise really good even though initially i was skeptical of the panel bottom design, it proved me wrong. it's fast and furious. can play HD high fps gta 5 with some fan noise.

The laptop itself is pretty nice, I wish I had spent the extra $ for a 17" screen but I wanted a smaller portable laptop. This can be used with an external monitor without issue. The screen drops in brightness pretty drastically when unplugged and I can't brighten it as far as I can tell. It is still bright enough to see good in low light but brighter light is a strain.
The utility to adjust the keyboard and base lights is more cumbersome than it should be. It allows for full customization of the lights which is great for those who like that. I just want an off or on and what color for the keyboard. The base, I do have it "breathing" the entire time but you can't set that and just turn it on, you have to drag the slider to the length of time you want it to do that which allows you to add other effects in the time line. Again, I just want it to stay doing what i want until i turn it off.
There is also, when closed, a "feature" where the base light changes to red and breathes until it goes into standby or is unplugged. I haven't figured out how to turn that off or alter it yet but my time working with it has been limited. The red is bright so it can be distracting if in your field of vision.
Also on boot, there is a overly loud sound like swords hitting when the logo appears. That can startle you if you aren't prepared. My wife always jumps :) I would prefer to turn it off or lower the volume but I haven't figured that out either, I assume it is in the bios but I would think they could do that through a windows utility.
These are all just annoyances for me and maybe fine for others but none of this hurts the overall laptop functionality which seems to be great thus far. If I could adjust these annoyances, this would probably bump to 5 stars. ASUS is a good company and I have used their motherboards and graphics cards numerous times over the years in my custom desktop PC builds and was always satisfied. That's why I decided to try one of their laptops. I think I will be happy with this, and the Wi-Fi6 or AX built in is nice for future connectivity as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!
