I asked for this for Christmas as I liked the lighter wood and the red knives to match my kitchen. They replaced a dark wood "Paula Deen" set. There were 2 less steak knives but that did not bother me. They are very sharp and I'm very happy with the steel however the handles seem light like a hollow plastic. I have always loved the Cuisinart brand so I'm holding my opinion on that. So far, a month after receiving, they are still really nice and I enjoy them.
